do you agree?
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
nah i’m sorry no hate to india but its just not there yet
NA tier 2 clears both though
its js bait dont even interact; also sea has much better talent with much worse specs
yes easiest question, ngl probably should compare with cn national competition team and theyre equal
in terms of the amount of talent yes and it's not close.
In terms of the average level of gameplay no, DFM clears most of SEA, maybe SP could compete but I don't think they would win more than 40% of the games
"amount of talent" theres 10 players in tier 1 japan vs like 100+ in tier 2 sea what kinda comparison is that
idrk but the amount of talent on the japanese teams is extremely low is what I meant. There's 1 world class player, 2 good players and that's it. Even if you add their T2 scene there's isn't more than 2 world class and 6 good players or smth like that. That's what I meant.
My point is that the average level in SEA is much higher
all of zeta is talented theyre js utilised badly
TRUST
syouta is a BEAST trust
eKo is a BEAST trust
absol is ehhh
xdll is a BEAST trust
sugarz3ro lowk past his prime
but XQQ is a terrorist
that 2 players from t1 japan is last ascension place and lost to indian, that means if their t2 formed the best roster theyre equal to t5 cn or t2 india, meiy is only good player from them and maybe korean
Can you say what's your problem with japanese teams and players? It's weird how you hate them. And you always avoid this question too. Just say the reason unless it means you will get banned from vlr.
right cuz losing to some of the best teams in tier 2 pacific makes a team equal to tier 5 china or tier 2 india lol ok
wdym bruh vlt is t2 india and yatsuka caedye lost to them and theyre last place asc last year, its pretty good comparison i would say considering they lost to t2 india, t5 cn is maybe to much probably t4
velocity gaming legit only lost to BOOM and NS during that ascension ??????????????????????????????????
is xavi8k a worse player than a T5 cn player now, given he lost to VLT?
i mean i take comparison as top teams in the region, vlt still top t2 india and riddle is top t2 jp
yeah its simple at that time ph is worse than ind, its more according to jp team though cause were more talking about them in last place asc #10
yes jp isnt a strong region but ur comment about them being comparable to t5 china is just wrong
theyre comparable to t2 china
I agree by the way.
The number of Japanese young talents has risen since the days of the old ZETA, Northeption, CR, Fennel and the likes; but it'll take a while until they can break the upper echelon of the domestic scene.
Teams like WECC and Northeption Academy showed what the future of Japan could hold.
But for now, the parity of SEA is a bit muddled thanks to the variation from all across the subregion, so in terms of 'pure' average, Japan takes a bit of the cake there.
Let's not make this any worse :)
japan has the same infrastructure as NA for tier 2, with a fuck ton of tier 2 org support but with below average domestic talent instead
even though VCT JP hasn't produced that much tier 1 superstars from japan they do produce a fuck ton of imports (hyunmin, jemkin, something, izu etc.)
It's actually unbelievable how people underplay how a good infrastructure can impact the level of playing field, even if the talent are being pingponged all over the place.
That's the dilemma the Japanese scene is having right now, but give credits where its due.
the only credit that has to be given there is that japan is fricking rich unlike SEA
that's exactly what Japan does yes. 0 investment in talent developpment. Just trying to build the biggest scene possible which is cool but doesn't bring you success
Singapore in in sea region. Most developed and richest Asian country. And other seas countries are decently rich too except for few.
Singapore is a minuscule part of SEA, I can count the SG players on my fingers, not to mention the amount of SG orgs
That just proves that being rich alone does not mean shit if the culture and foundation isn't there. Japan just never really cared much about pc until like last 5 years.
I think population plays a huge role too, Singapore population and size is too small, just like EMEA, countries, they don't have a lot of players for each individual countries but they joined together to form teams, the only exception is turkey
I watched a documentary and it said JP fell behind in esports after the fighting game genre because they focused on family-made/anime gacha games and their government did not recognise esports until recently
Bruh it's more about console gaming vs pc gaming. Pc gaming was never big in Japan until like 5 years ago. Fighting games aren't pc games too.
pc games weren't big in Japan until like 5 years ago and the main reason is JP government recognising esports around that period too
i noticed u mentioned WECC and NTHY but not ZETA.AC winter? thats not very cool of u ><
i'm assuming we exclude the imporst from this conversation because he lot of them are not developped in japan
the only time japan got close to qualifying to tier 1 from ascension was with kr1stal and jemkin carrying tier 3 japanese players
a region with 2 billion people being comparable and arguably worse than a region with 100 million people is funny
Not really. Japan isn't a big pc gaming country either. Also that statement is just dumb in general even if Japan had a very strong p. Gaming culture.
pcs are non existent for the majority hr, scene carried by 60hz laptops
I think you are failing to understand what 2 billion means. 10% of that is almost double the population of Japan.
Yeah only around 10% of japan also is involved in pc gaming. If Japan actually took pc gaming and esports seriously from the very beginning like Korea or China they would be dominating like Korea or China in esports with how developed they are. You don't understand that pc gaming culture is very weak in Japan and that South Asia isn't as poor as you think.
