NA roster shuffle questions

There's a general assumption that nitr0's transfer to TL CSGO is only the first of a potentially massive roster shuffle in NA that crosses between CS and VAL.

Curious to hear opinions - after the dust of the NA roster shuffles settles:

  • Will NA VAL get stronger/weaker?
  • Will NA CS get stronger/weaker?

Will we see a return of folks like Tarik, RUSH, etc. to the professional esports scene? Does 100T pick up big (former) CS names or do they gamble on young VAL talent? Do any previously NA teams go international? Do Sentinels stay true to their PR talk and keep their current roster iteration? Does EG CSGO actually rebuild its roster?

Which players will switch games? Who will stay put?

NA Val will get stronger as the more raw talents that come out of ranked get the opportunities to go pro under big orgs.

I don't see how NA CS gets stronger at this point unless liquid somehow get into their prime 2019 form and even then they might not be number 1 in the world.

I'm pretty sure TL is still going to be one of the only top NA orgs in CS (not including Brazilian teams like Fur). So, I think its more likely that more NA CS players will move to Valorant because of more opportunities.

NA CS will more or less stay the same.

With VAl, it's hard to say, alot of new players all over the world are all getting better at the same rate of progress and previous CS experience matters less and less the longer Valorant has been out. This means NA could get better in Val, but it might not show because other regions are also getting better at the same time.

I'd have to agree about NA VAL. I think a lot of young talents are excited about it, although we'll see how many go the streaming route vs the esports route. And I still think we might see Tarik go pro, which would be a big move.

I see what you mean about NA CS, although its hard to imagine it getting worse given how much unsigned talent is sitting around. Floppy already went back to CS and Extra Salt are actually qualifying for things again, and we still don't know RUSH or oBo's plans.

Still, if I were betting money, I'd be betting in agreement with you

I can see that. Very much agreed that CS experience will continue to matter less. Soon we'll have stars that never really played CS.

Yeah, and unless they change the mechanics of Valorant, people who never played CS will end up better. There are certain habits in CS which just don't apply to Valorant and are inefficient to rely on. Hard habits to break that can sometimes lose you gunfights.

Agreed. Switching from CS: GO was hard. But I only played for 3-4 months. My friend who was a higher rank than me ended up being Silver and I ended up being plat-diamond. It's a lot to do with spray control and utility usage.
