Sem1- [#5]is overwatch doing well in Asia or what? I thought that the game died
He signed contract with a OWL team, even the game dead, but his salary will be much bigger than Thailand teams can pay. And yes, Overwatch is super dead in SEA, doing okay in China, still 3rd-4th popular in Korea I think

He is going to play in "NA" team. And he was OW prodigy before, but was way too young to compete in tier 1. Plus next OWL season is being played in OW2, so that's pretty hype and many teams are signing new talent and seems like he still has love towards the game. And obviously he is going to get paid more than in SEA Valorant.

It's dead. However, the salaries are very impressive. 100k US/year average.
EDIT: The OWL isn't regional, there's only one league with all the teams made up of players from around the world.

kinda sad to see him go, I feel like he definitely made a name for himself in valorant

I don't have faith in Overwatch 2 tbh, with all issues in Activision-Blizzard

He probably joins OWL as LA Gladiators

I thought OW2 was just some added story and PVE or something lol

Does OW2 stand for any other than overwatch 2?
Cause that game was delayed until 2023.

True, but for someone who likes Overwatch its still pretty hype because there will be new content and stuff. And I would imagine that Patiphan still likes Overwatch, because he pretty much switched just because he was too young. He only turned 18 (minimum age in OWL) like 3 months ago. Plus OWL minimum wage is like $50k per season and he is joining one of the most money spending teams meaning that he is most likely making even more so he is still making more than in SEA Valorant.

Yeah, and plus he will get paid so much money than in Thailand. With U.S money, he can live very wealthy live in Thailand
MacaroniPenguin [#14]Yikes. Big loss for X10, I don't know who would be a proper fit to fill the gap hes going to leave. Maybe new SEA teams will enter the top tier?
SEA has lots of cracked jetts, wouldn't count them out

Nah SEA is full of cracked jetts will not be hard to find a replacement plus who knows their old jett might comeback apparently he had a beef with the team and was dropped you never know
Sem1- [#10]kinda sad to see him go, I feel like he definitely made a name for himself in valorant
He made a name for himself years ago in ow like when he was 14 everyone knew that the second he turns 18 he will be in owl. This deal was likely on the cards for a while

They are also adding some new maps, new heroes, base gaming is going from 6v6 to 5v5 (2 dps, 2 support, 1 tank). There's some hero reworks and for example tank role is going to change little and they are getting new abilities etc. Then ofc engine update that adds better visuals and sounds etc. Its pretty big update even for PVP.

Next season of OWL will be played in Alpha version of OW2 I'm pretty sure. I don't know how it will work, but that's their plan. Its weird situation, but at last they haven't said that they would cancel that especially when teams have made changes for 5v5 already.
