I've seen a lot of posts suggesting that KR, JP, and SEA(Including SA) should merge into one regional tournament. This would be great because the minor regions that are lacking such as Japan would improve. However, the 'ping' makes a big difference here and there would be too many teams.

KR & JP
The idea of combining KR and JP would be great, but I honestly don't like the idea. There are indeed so many talents in both KR and JP, but the idea of importing KR players into the JP teams is a big issue. I don't want to see more KR players in the JP region. I want to see more Japanese players improving and Korean players forming a formidable team to challenge Vision Strikers. The issue with this lies down with communication between Japanese and the Korean language. The only Korean player I know that can speak Japanese fluently is Astell a former Northception player along with Seoldam. I do understand the desire for JP org to dominate their region through getting Korean players, but I think this would just stagger the region.

SEA and SA (South Asia)
Honestly just give South Asia a direct one slot. Too many teams are already in SEA alone and the distance between each other just creates a big difference in ping. Nothing to say about SEA and SA that much. Other than the rule of not allowing a mixture of different nationals in a team. For example, a team composed of SG/MY/ID/PH/TH is not allowed. We play in one server and I think they should change that one rule.

CHINA
I think they will dominate APAC. Aims just crazy. They're the reason why I stopped playing on the HK server and I don't want to see more of EDG. Just give them one slot. Frustrating to face Chinese players/teams. I honestly think their body is infused with aimbots.

SG/MY is one and they're 3 of them in the team. Only 2 ID. You can't have less than 3 SG/MY in one team in their region.

Just wanted to ask where is it written that a team composed of sg my id ph th not allowed? is it because all of them have diff circuts to qualify into the sea circut?

Rules in the respective regions. For example in SG/MY. You can't have less than 3 SG/MY players in one team. This also applies to the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan. Not sure about Korea.

Edit: You can see this in the rulebook once you register for VCT in your respective region. It will state there that you need at least 3 players in the same region where you are participating. For example, you are playing in the Philippines. You need at least 3 Filipino in the team.

It's logical. SEA consists of 6 different national circuits. Indonesia, Thailand, MY/SG, HK/TW, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It's not to prevent any types of import or whatsoever, it's so that teams won't go crazy over importing them. It's been standard procedure with some of the regional TOs and what not. It's not sad, it's just the logistical limitations that allows for this format to flourish especially for SEA.

I wonder what stops the region from making a single open to all Challengers circuit, like how NA works, and allowing mixed teams, instead of splitting into several subregions. The ping difference between HK and SG isn't that terrible.

KR region is pretty overrated. VS was talking shit about APAC teams and now they can't even make it to the playoffs KEWL

They weren't talking shit about APAC Teams. There is actually a translated document between the conversation of VS's Coach and KR Interviewer. VS's Coach said there are quite a few Asian teams that might be stronger than most globally.

Can you make a superteam with one player from each of those SEA countries?
Champions is the only thing I have seen after Masters 2. So don't know much about SEA.

No, you can only get 2 players from each respective region other than yours. Example would be PRX having 2 ID players and playing the SG/MY region or NGX have Crazyguy and zeesbeew (i forgot how to pronounce his name) and playing in the PH region.

No I'm saying like can you make a superteam on your opinion. Not a real team but just something everyone would love to see.

#18

No. You need to have at least 3 players from the home region your team is participating in. That's why PRX has 2 SG and 1 MY to meet the quota added on top of the 2 Indonesian players. Nigma Galaxy for example now has 3 Filipino players, 1 Vietnamese player, and 1 Singaporean player. Those are fine.

We play in one server and I think they should change that one rule.

You do know that each country has different servers to adhere to? While the infrastructure is capable enough for players to hop on from one server to another, let me tell you that jumping from SG to HK and vice versa is night and day. 30 to 60 ping is noticeable and that puts pressure onto the infrastructure, TOs, and orgs to consider their investments. A single regional Challengers for SEA won't work. A mixture of what I've said before added on top of the regional esports culture makes it difficult. Challengers SEA Finals is unique as it is for now.

I know that ping difference is noticeable, but I wasn't talking about a single regional Challengers for SEA. I was just stating the possibility of removing that one rule.

honestly, KR needs more good teams other than VS, and JP needs more teams like NTH in APAC LCQ that actually shows improvement in terms of gameplay and teamwork.

Yeah Korea just needs more players the player base is excruciatingly small but a lot more should come next year.

Seems like it is unlikely to happen. A lot of KR players recently signed with JP teams. There is a rumor circulating that there would be more orgs to invest in KR Region or just uninstall LoL and play Valorant kekw.

We got so much potential as a region, but just no playerbase :(

At least Damwon Gaming should be close to rivalring VS next year; however, since they are rumoured to build off of a core of t3xture, iNTRO, and Esperanza

for those who don't know, there are frequently Chinese players playing on 60+ ping and packet loss with VPN on the SEA ranked leaderboards.

The game is announced but yet to be officially released in China. I can't really provide much information regarding their perception of the game, but Boaster's Chinese singing (lmao) was trending a while after iceland. There are a lot of comments about the 1M viewership, a lot of stuff comparing it to CS, and stuff comparing it to OW on bilibili during the announcement.

China's playerbase, approach, and investment makes it a perfect region for basically any esport it takes seriously.

it's no secret when it comes to the Chinese potential in video game industry, having a game that is able to be fully released in China is extremely difficult but can also be really rewarding if you are having a success in releasing it there.

Yeah. If there's any problem with Chinese esports, it's how insulated it is. It's often very difficult to be a fan of the teams and players without actually being in China, or being fluent in Chinese. They have no need for a western audience, after all.

in my current opinion, the chinese team is too far behind in tactics and teamwork, most players have no professional experience in other games, although they have aim,but aim is not everything in the game.like the br and turkish teams, they have good aim but are easily destoryed.

#36

Honestly, playing against Chinese players is a nightmare in Ranked Games. It's all aim no brain and they destroy with that aim alone. I can't stop emphasizing how strong EDG players are with their aim. They ruined my ranked games and I lost my opportunity to get 6 Radiant Triangles this act.

Honestly what all we need is ONE MEDIAN SERVER between South and South Asia it'd give fair ping to both SEA and Japan. And Indian TOs are already into mixed SA+SEA tournament, they are planning even bigger.

Having KR/JP teams representing in SA/SEA mixed tournaments would help their region. I know some of KR/JP players that they can play in HK server with 40+ pings and SG Server with 70+ Pings. There were also Russian players who played in JP region but struggles when they go against team with HK/SG servers because their ping is almost 100+ ping same with the players from Pakistan/Afghanistan. Adding a median server will really help them to develop in the fps scene.
