Is IGL'ng as an Initiator Overrated?

I'm sure we have all heard the idea that IGL'ng as an Initiator is the way to go, but I cannot be the only one that believes its a lot less optimal than Sentinel or Controller IGL'ng?

I would Imagine Mid-Rounding and the ability to Macro your teammates would be more difficult to do on a role that is all up in the action with the Duelist.

This forum is just for discussion, everyone be reasonable with your comments, no ragebaiting.

i think the igl can more easily make reads on controller and senti and the mid rounder should play initiator, theres a reason teams usually have an igl and a mid rounder

I Imagined the Mid Rounds to be easier on the Sentinel and Controller role as well. Take Johnqt and Boo for example. When they played those core roles they had the best reads and mid rounds, when they decided to try Initiator the reads went down the drain.

players can make reads at the level where are at right now so it isn't as valuable as better midrounding since you can chill on set defaults early game

its about agency being apart of the pack gives you better cancels, noise cuts, rehits, reclears since u can call them at better times since you are there and can make a read faster then anyone on your team
controller igl'ing is different dont group them controller is the most flexible role in the game u can be on entry on lurk on passive info and play like a inti and set up your team so it doesnt face the same problems as senti thats why controller or flex are the most popular role swaps

i think the want for igl inti stems from lurkers and passive players getting good enough to midround there teams to a different site or give igl info so igls who dont play that role cant benefit from it and being apart of the pack gives you calling options that you didn't have or make them easier like for example
also lurking has become its own skill/playmaking tool so you want a stronger mechs player on it not igl
it has some merit but all in all its just a good excuse since you can reason it out like i have and i am braindead asf

You can balance the igl role with outside game practice. The more you practice, the less you need to make decisions in-game that need explanation. Agent shouldn't matter.
