Demon1 Disasterclass

After critically analysing LEV v MIBR and C9 and VOD reviewing with multiple Tier 1 Coaches and Players, the performance shown by Demon1 in the past few games have been underwhelming to say the least. This may have stemmed from his short stay at NRG, and ultimately his ego and Potter/EG after winning Champions 2023 in his rookie year. His strive for more has left him on a different page than his teammates, whom have opted for a teamwork-like approach rather than Demon1's aim-reliant playstyle. His transition into the Controller role has proven futile, performing identically to his prior Duelist matches despite having minimal role issues in LEV. It seems like his year would be cut short once again, similar to the 2024 with NRG and would likely result in him transferring to a different team or region as a whole. Suggestions include that Demon1 plays for MIBR alongside Aspas and other rookie stars, similar to his 2023 roster with EG and FNATIC's 2023 decisions in picking up freshmen and being able to train them to the playstyle of their specific team.

Either way, Demon1's recent underperformance has left heads being scratched at whether his stellar debut was carried by a whimsical alignment of stars or if his year would turn around when it matters most and finish on top once again.

I dont think a comeback is happening Its GGs for him there were 2-3 rounds where he used zero util till last 30 seconds on split.

its because hes not built for smokes like just let him lock reyna or jett or something and turn off main volume and spotify to 90% and let him run around at tap heads or something just like when he was in EG no clue what LEV are doing to him i think NRG and LEV saw that he had too much potential and conspired to turn him into FNS or something over the course of 3 years

I think they tried it in scrims but it didnt work, but he did pretty well on brim when he won champs I dont understand how he is so bad with omen util , he still got a bit of aim in him but not likebefore where he can solo peek an angle and get two kills

Not built for smokes but he literally won champs playing Brim and Astra interchangeably. I don't know what it is about Omen that he doesn't fully click on.

I've mentioned in my other post in this thread that him being washed is because teams don't realise he is not a tip-of-the-spear duelist but rather a second-contact duelist. He will occasionally get first-pick, but he is not the kind of person to dive a site and instead look for a pick by defaulting. He'd definitely fit a role that Meteor currently plays for T1 where he can play Iso but also flex into a different role. Tex should be the primary duelist since he has enough experience (I know Kingg does too, but he is the best Omen player on the team).

The level of competition his naturally risen so whilst Demon1 may strive for more, it will require a lot more work than in previous seasons. I think what is clear is that Demon1 worked very well on this Jett/Brim/Astra flex role. For one thing, he has openly said that he enjoys Astra as an agent and Brim is something of an aggro agent with that stim. I would be interested to see him play Iso or Clove since Demon1 could benefit from having an agent that makes his duels more advantageous for him (Iso shield, Clove movement after heal/Clove revive).

I feel like these newer teams have not realised that you cannot put this guy on the entry-duelist with agents like Raze or Neon since that is not his playstyle. He is aggro, but he prefers to play a bit more tactically than be the tip of the spear. Jawgemo was the perfect balance for Demon1 since Jawgemo is the kind of guy to send it. What hurts Demon1 more is the meta has almost no space for Jett. More teams are playing Yoru, Neon, Raze and the occasional Waylay. Iso is more of a secondary duelist option and Reyna is only getting very niche picks on Icebox. Jett is still probably most viable on Icebox but with how shaken up the meta is compared to 2 years ago, naturally Demon1 is gonna need to adapt to full duelist or find the new flex role.
