FNC Chronicle suggests that VALORANT should remove cooldowns or skill recharge mechanics, or only have "smoke" available, in order to balance the game more effectively.
In recent weeks, there has been a lot of discussion in the VALORANT community about the current playstyle, which seems to focus more on skill usage than shooting. This is a shift from when the game was first launched, where players were told that "shooting should be the main focus, not skills."
Then, Chronicle, an experienced player from Fnatic, shared his thoughts on the matter. He pointed out that, if we compare gameplay to a triangle (skills, shooting, and teamwork), skill usage now overlaps too much with the other two aspects. Nerfing character skills might help in the short term, but he has a better idea to propose.
The Russian star suggested that VALORANT should remove cooldowns and skill recharge mechanics, or only have "smoke" skills, to make shooting and skill usage more balanced. Removing cooldowns and skill recharge would make each skill usage more valuable and force players to think carefully before using them, rather than spamming skills and waiting for them to come back. This would lead to more teamwork and, as skill usage decreases, there would be more space for shooting.
