Im not against Chinese teams competing or Tencent Im just saying you can’t have one and not the other no one said anything when they held a tournament in China but when Saudi money is involved in a tournament where teams could earn a lot of money it is a problem

The main thing I see people complaining about is the human rights abuse in Saudi Arabia not the esports fanbase so are you trying to say because they have a big fanbase we make a exception for them I don’t understand.

In my opinion Chinese teams and region deserve a place in Valorant but the community can’t complain about teams accepting a Saudi tournament while glazing Chinese teams cause that is hypocritical

The money is insane enough that every competing team will get a good enough paycheck for them to not take it as serious as their in-league tournaments. The competition is not gonna be insane and it's literally invite-only so you will see only big-name teams. These are just some thinking points asides the human rights abuse claims which are not to be undermined. The reason EWC is getting so much hate is because it is all for show - it's just basically an off-season tournament with one of the most attention-seeking names (and this is just my nitpick, but it would have made more sense to call it the eSports Olympics since every game has its own different mechanics that adjust gameplay).

Ethical aide aside this is such a mickey mouse tournament with a big prize pool. Team will have to travel from theri home base to saudi and comeback and play split 2 like why put this pressure on your team. Teams are probably gonna pug it out cause why would you expose strats

The reason people don't care as much about China is because Chinese esports isn't directly funded by the Chinese government. The EWC is directly funded by the Saudi government

Damn this topic got me reading, and I found out immigrants are humans too and also have rights, its not just LGBTQIA+. Thank god we dont have tournaments happening in places where migrants are heavily mistreated, like separating children from their families, and thus also violating human rights. I'm sure we only have tournaments in places where they sign International treaties focused on human rights.
