300k viewership in masters? without SEN Valorant is cooked for sure
Cookierookie577 [#3]get rid of kick off why is there a 8 team masters tourney. Bangkok is a shit spot too, CS went to china and that was ass too. Please stick to Eu NA or Korea or Japan
China is where the $$$ is at
The tournament isn’t doing too bad actually. 300k range is around what the game historically pulled for masters events located in Asia.
Masters tokyo group stage viewership: https://escharts.com/news/vct-2023-masters-tokyo-group-stage-recap
Bangkok’s peak viewers (and even viewers for mid games like t1 vs vit) either cleared or are on par with Tokyo’s most popular group stage games.
Also the average viewers is 270k, lower than Bangkok’s current 325k average.
Masters Shanghai group stage viewership: https://escharts.com/news/vct-2024-masters-shanghai-group-stages
Again, bangkok already has more PV and has a higher average viewership (325k vs 281k)
glittering_yard [#6]thats very bad, a lot regional matchups got more viewership
It’s fairly common for regional matchups to get more viewership than masters games. last year Americas kickoff was more popular than masters Shanghai other than the grand finals

yeah but I dont think this should be the case, these are supposed to be the 8 best teams in the world playing in a big stage(8 team Masters is really bad tbh), but a common MIBR pulls more viewership

I mean there’s many reasons for it though, like timezones and popularity of the team or region. For example, it’s no wonder mibr gets more viewers at normal times than trace vs g2. The Brazil fanbase is huge, the Chinese fanbase doesn’t watch on platforms that escharts factors into its viewership totals, and g2 is playing at a poor time for NA

Also all the Bangkok games have been stomps whereas mibr has had either super close map 3 games with lev and kru or that crazy ass 21-19 map 3 vs sen
