What accent did you learn to speak English in?
Just met a guy in ranked who grew up completely in Europe, but had a thicker American accent than most Americans I've spoken to

imo american is just easier to learn in general because they dont cut out letters as much as british. my norwegian accent is very flat so it suits traditinal american better aswell.

take the word "but" for example, afaik english speaker either cut out the T or has weight on it. while americans just fuse it together with "em" "burreeem"(not all but i think most of u know what i mean)

When I was learning English as a kid in the American South I had no accent, because American TV didn't usually use heavy accents. I was also in a city, and American cities (apart from like, NYC and LA, I guess) don't have a discernable accent. The early Youtube age also had a lot of American Youtubers with basic, easy-to-understand accents.

It was much later when I moved away from the city to the suburbs with my parents that a Southern drawl began to sneak into my speaking style, lol. Sometimes it takes over when I'm road raging.

edit since i realized i never mentioned this: i immigrated to the US with my parents when i was around 5. i only knew Spanish at that time.

I already had some degree in english, but I learned how to speak english with the Russians at Dayz.
My accent is a Brazilian accent, but some words has Russian accent.
Brazilian improves his English with Russians at a czech game, in a hosted server by a German.

I don't think anyone learns English in any accent or thinks about it. You learn English, not accents. In school they show both English and American versions for certain words like color vs colour, bit of Australian as well. And then you just mimic what you hear in videos, movies etc. Most people have accents that showcase their origins like you could hear I'm from Finland for example. But I guess American accent is more common because of media, know that some people prefer British because it sounds more professional. But I think most don't follow accents and just talk English and uses mixture of whatever they've learned and heard.
