csgo skills is not a 1:1 conversion to valorant, no game is
just cause you were the best starcraft 1 player didnt mean you became the best at starcraft 2, examples like this is endless
the best 1.6 players weren't the best csgo players, + Valorant has a completely different engine and there's abilities

not true at all? are you really that dumb to think Tenz was better than Ethan at csgo?

Theory transfers, mechanics don't. Valorant is way more forgiving than any previous cs game.

Comparing RTS games to FPS games isn't the fairest of comparisons.
There's raw skills, mechanics, muscle memory, more precise adaptation in less learning curve and more.
The same can be found in card games pro players. There's examples of the opposite as well
It's obviously not the exact same, but the countless examples of pro players making the switch and succeeding are out there
Your last statement isn't entirely true either.

No, but both were pro cs players. as was 95% of the pro scene, in a year it'll be 99%

I'm not jumping on the Korean h8 train with these idiots but it is true the best players do come from CS. Nats and Tenz are prime examples. Eventually the skill gap will grow in Valorant to where even CS transplants will suck compared to the kids who just play Valorant. If anything the amount of former CS talent will go down over time and the majority pros will be known from their Valorant career.

Plus that's the exception to the rule, not even lol
There's actual reasons for it other than "engine different" which is completely unrelated
Abilities would translate as utilities
The sole esports mindset, habits and so on are reason enough for pro players to stand out in a new game having a complete different background, let alone the same gaming category such as TACTICAL FPS games...
Boaster was a LoL player
Shroud's pure aim has stood out in many games
There's a reason all top valo players come from CS:GO. There's a reason we can differentiate different set of skills from others such as IGLing, (Boaster, Koldamenta) with their respective uniquenesess they translated into this game.
cNed coming from ZULA is the same case
They have it easier. Yes
Ibis [#42]Youre just sad KennyS likes valorant more right now
na, i dnt care im not sad because he is not what he used to be + he say he likes more because he have no more chances to play a in a tier 1 team in cs, so basically he is forzed to end his carrer in retirement home valorante
KoreanOverlord [#9]not true at all? are you really that dumb to think Tenz was better than Ethan at csgo?
In aim and mechanics? Definitely yes. TenZ was a literal god in aim even in CSGO.
I remember trying those bot aim training maps and literally, half of them had TenZ on the top of the leaderboards. He also had some of the best movement in CSGO. Just take the Van bhop on B site mirage for example.
I would argue that TenZ still is an aim and mechanics one trick. Obviously, he does have "some" game sense and other basic skills owing to the fact that he is radiant and was a pro player regardless.
Valorant makes the "go aim and kill" concept much easier with the introduction of duelists. Jett and Reyna can get away with making stupid mistakes that TenZ would be punished for in CSGO.
In valorant he also got perhaps the more supportive team he could hope to get.
That being said I totally agree with your point that Ethan was overall and much more valuable player in pro play and you cannot translate skills 1 on 1 from any other game.
