Aspas and the Baiter Allegation Explained

As a huge fan of Aspas, it’s honestly so frustrating seeing so many people in 2024 accusing him of being a baiter or saying he only plays for stats. A lot of these takes completely ignore how the meta works or how much team dynamics can affect someone’s playstyle. It’s like they don’t even consider the bigger picture.
finally addressed properly because Aspas deserves way more respect for the impact he has in the game.

it’s lowkey super funny, people are becoming so accustomed to watching duelists just run at people and then die that they suddenly develop amnesia and completely forget how dominant aspas has been for the past two to three years, only one or two duelist itw have ever been able to replicate his consistency

like if aspas is baiting then maybe your favorite duelist should start doing the same thing if they wanna emulate the kind of success he’s had lol

no maybe HE should go to sentinel or smth. duelist is space taking role so why tf play it if anyone but you is taking the space? demon1 too

If you watch his games closely, you’ll notice Aspas takes up a lot of space on the map. People only seem to point out the rounds where he’s lurking or drawing the enemy’s attention, without understanding the purpose behind it. Most teams revolve around their duelist, and when you see a duelist in a particular position, there’s a 70-80% chance it’s setting up for a rotation. Aspas does this so well, creating opportunities for his team to catch opponents mid-rotation and secure the round. It’s not about baiting—it’s about playing smart and understanding team dynamics.

You can see other top duelists like Zekken, Kankang, and Demon1 doing the same for their teams. It’s a crucial part of high-level play, and it shows how well these players adapt to the meta and support their teammates.

people just take FKFD numbers without actually seeing the context in them and call him statspas when theyre the ones obsessed with stats

yesterday he had the biggest first engagements on attack on his team (with similar numbers to oxy btw), and they compare it with artzin, who had significantly lower numbers on attack but got bombed with execs on defense, so the overall numbers are inflated, and they compare it like theyre the same thing lol

then they take the death numbers like C9 didnt pressure them to death on attack (7 rounds in sequence on abyss, the only map he actually died less) and avoiding his bomb when he was anchor awping and had to save lol

crazy how these allegations started with the worst people you know that had personal hate agenda against Aspas, and so many people jumped on this train trying to diminish everything hes done and rewrite history.

And its ironic because their favorite players are probably Aspas fans
