vlr.gg's player nationality notation is inconsiste

vlr.gg listed players like tex and demon1, who never played for EMEA, as German and Russian nationals because of their bloodline. And players like benjyfishy list England as a country that is not listed in the competition rule book (only UK is listed, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are not listed). If you can fix it, you should fix it. Inconsistent and incorrect notation confuses people.

the players have a preference for which flag they represent

I don't know if it was requested by the players, but it is true that the nationality is written incorrectly.

Have players ever asked vlr.gg to have their own flags?

We need to make a thread solely focuses on these to avoid confusions imo

Players can ask to change their flairs lol no one is going to put a non representive flag next to suygetsu when he clearly has a russian name and last name

I already know that suygetsu asked to change his nationality because of the war, so I think vlr.gg made a good choice, but I still can't find any cases where the players I mentioned requested it themselves. It could be that they requested it, and if so, my opinion is wrong, but if they didn't request it, wouldn't it be right to list it by their official nationality, not their bloodline or birthplace?

Why would players publicaly address that they changed the flag, they all request it either via email (maybe) or discord
If they didnt request it they list it by their official nationality (examples could be demon1 american in 2023 and majority of 2024 and florescent in 2023 before she changed her flag from canada to vietnam)

Nah, it is the players if there's a change, otherwise (I could be wrong) vlr devs manually input the flag.
I'm guessing they have their own ways to contact vlr since there isn't anything recent in their discord, but I found this

If his mind hasn't changed in two years, then demon1's nationality should be listed as American.

imma be honest, i think that vlr should just list them by their nationality, or allow players/users to display a secondary flag. allows players to show their preferred flag but also clears confusion.
