Just saw that in CS there is a female team in both BLAST bounty and IEM Katowice. Why is doesn't Valorant have female teams in tier 1 events?
Lucrix [#4]Women are allowed in tier 1 but no one wants to sign them except for flor
Here come the transphobes💀
I saw that a female team is ranked 24th in the world in CS. Why is there such a discrepancy between both games?
MrBulbe [#5]I saw that a female team is ranked 24th in the world in CS. Why is there such a discrepancy between both games?
Cs has been around far longer. Also, cs isn’t franchised so tier one in val is different from cs. There’s only what 48 teams? No team wants to run the risk of signing a team that probably can’t do much with where the gc talent is at right now
burritx [#10]Because T1 isn't open like CS, you can't play any T1 events if you're not partnered with Riot, unlike CS where you can theoretically qualify for any major events regardless of your tier
So why do teams not sign teams like SR to play in tier 1? Best team in GC should at least be competitive in any league
MrBulbe [#11]So why do teams not sign teams like SR to play in tier 1? Best team in GC should at least be competitive in any league
They signed flor from sr who was the main hitter from that roster. Sr have tried to play in tier2 but they always lose before making it anywhere
Lucrix [#13]They signed flor from sr who was the main hitter from that roster. Sr have tried to play in tier2 but they always lose before making it anywhere
Yea, but why a team like C9 didn't sign the whole SR roster to play for them?
MrBulbe [#11]So why do teams not sign teams like SR to play in tier 1? Best team in GC should at least be competitive in any league
best team in gc does not mean competitive in any league
cobalt21312 [#15]best team in gc does not mean competitive in any league
Why not? SR would have definitely placed top 5 in China
MrBulbe [#14]Yea, but why a team like C9 didn't sign the whole SR roster to play for them?
Alright so are you trolling orrrrr
MrBulbe [#11]So why do teams not sign teams like SR to play in tier 1? Best team in GC should at least be competitive in any league
because to them that's a no brainer move, they already are bleeding money from having to field a team so why would they risk losing more money by having a team with no proper T1 experience and not even T2 experience? It sucks but it's true not a single GC team has managed to play in T2 leagues yet
Lucrix [#17]Alright so are you trolling orrrrr
I am genuinely asking. Why a team with no real chance of doing anything in the league couldn't give a chance to a female team
burritx [#18]because to them that's a no brainer move, they already are bleeding money from having to field a team so why would they risk losing more money by having a team with no proper T1 experience and not even T2 experience? He’s trolling I think
MrBulbe [#19]I am genuinely asking. Why a team with no real chance of doing anything in the league couldn't give a chance to a female team
Because they can just sign a roster that has a chance to do anything?
MrBulbe [#19]I am genuinely asking. Why a team with no real chance of doing anything in the league couldn't give a chance to a female team
Probably because it’s not like c9 is the worst team in the league. They have a star duelist and some decent players backing him up. But your comment in china is crazy
Lucrix [#22]Probably because it’s not like c9 is the worst team in the league. They have a star duelist and some decent players backing him up. But your comment in china is crazy
I used C9 as an example, there are definitely teams in VCT who have no hope of making playoffs.
MrBulbe [#24]I used C9 as an example, there are definitely teams in VCT who have no hope of making playoffs.
With where the gc talent is at right now, all of the rosters probably have a better chance of doing something than the gc teams
Just to let you know, LoL Esports used to have a league in Russia called the LCL, and there was a team called Vaevictus Esports which was an all female team, and I kid you not, they went 0-34 across the whole season they played in, and got relegated cuz of how shit they were. For reference, they literally lost a game in less than 15 minutes, and in one of their games had a kill gap of 50 (game ended 52-2) 💀
You can pretty much get the idea of what would happen if there was an all female team in tier 1 Valorant

How do you even lose LoL game in 15 minutes?
MrBulbe [#28]How do you even lose LoL game in 15 minutes?
I swear it would take 15 minutes to break a tower
They were just that bad lol
Lucrix [#12]You’re not wrong but let’s keep in mind it’s not cuz they’re girls
i dont recall mentioning anything about gender
all gc teams are trash and that's the simple truth, though i do believe they'd be useful for feeding wins to other teams (like SA does to NA)
MrBulbe [#25]How do we know that if they have never played in tier 1?
how do we know I'm not good if I haven't played in tier one? you're right you cant know how good I am until I play in tier one. Its almost as if they play in a league where the average radiant would dominate
dort [#30]i dont recall mentioning anything about gender

Ik you didn’t say that, I was saying that so the degens didn’t come here and say that’s why they’re bad
MrBulbe [#16]Why not? SR would have definitely placed top 5 in China
maybe, maybe not. regardless, its definitely cheaper (and better for fans) for a chinese team to get local talent
One fan's take: Game Changers is partly why Tier 1 has been slow to incorporate women and marginalized genders into team lineups. For clarity I am not saying GC is bad or the problem, it is a visibility issue and IMO it's not gonna just magically fix itself.
From a player perspective: If you can get guaranteed a salaried spot in GC (ie: Top GC players), is it always worth the risk to try to move up to Tier 1? For some yes and that is awesome, some would rather stay in GC for the guarantee of salary or for other personal reasons, also great no problem. The players/coaches should do whatever they think is best and I support them, just trying to say that sometimes moving up to Tier 1 is not what is best for some individuals, same could be said for collegiate players.
I think there is also a structural issue that is hard to overcome when GC and Tier 1- Tier 2 are entirely different seasons, no chance of playing against each other in official tournaments, and therefore less chance that casual fans see women and other marginalized genders play. I consider myself an avid fan of Valorant E-Sports, so I enjoy watching anyone who is good/entertaining play. A lot of viewers are not avid fans, they have a favorite player, team, region, or only watch International events.
There are a couple of ways to fix that issue, and maybe you can argue that nothing needs to be done. Flor is on a Tier 1 roster, maybe this could be the start of a huge influx of teams at least more regularly trialing and hopefully signing more GC players. Personally I think there is still a visibility issue and the most obvious way to solve it for me would be inviting the top 2-3 GC teams from GC Champs to Tier 1 Champs, or at the very least including those teams in a play-in or something like an LCQ with Tier 1 teams. This would mean larger audiences get to see GC players/teams play against clouted teams like SEN, 100T, etc.
MrBulbe [#3]That is an off season event. People have been saying that those don't count
Certain ones don't count. Like the spotlight thing is irrelevant when you're not even playing with the main team. Same for those random KCorp/japan show matches where it's just some bo1s that no one gives 2 shits about.
RBHG definitely counts though
MrBulbe [#5]I saw that a female team is ranked 24th in the world in CS. Why is there such a discrepancy between both games?
They're 24th in the VRS because they farm prize pools from FE only events not because they're actually anywhere close to a top 24 team.
MrBulbe [#16]Why not? SR would have definitely placed top 5 in China
Ok now you're definitely trolling lol.
MrBulbe [#3]That is an off season event. People have been saying that those don't count
sorry, we should have gotten regular season Tier 1 vs GC games, our fault bro.
MrBulbe [#3]That is an off season event. People have been saying that those don't count
People may say that and it might be true for heretics too but not for gozen they had something to prove there you can't say they didn't play seriously

having a competitve female team in valorant is like having a competitive all indian team in valorant
it won't happen unless there is a sufficient number of good players
there aren't that many indian valorant players and they aren't that motivated, so its hard to have a competitive all-indian team
similarly there aren't that many female pros; more importantly in this case, they are not motivated at all due to gc being a money farm, so many don't improve significantly
imo if you put some of the best gc players together from different regions you can get competitive enough players like flor, vania, srn, dodonut and with good coaching i think they can be at least mid table
dort [#8]all gc teams are trash
doesnt take a brain to figure that out
correct Dort statement b4 GTA6
MrBulbe [#11]So why do teams not sign teams like SR to play in tier 1? Best team in GC should at least be competitive in any league

damn u had me in the first half, making legitimate points and everything, in the first half i woulda agreed with your points and you, but im sorry the GC talent is great right now, flor is demon1 aspas level so of course she gets signed but noia and mel are just as good in their roles, only reason they aint tier one is they aint flashy duelists, so i agree with ur first points about franchises and stuff but not u i do not agree w/ u
saying GC talent is in a bad place shows what to me seems like a clear lack of paying attention to GC, and before you respond, tell me Lucrix have u seen more than a flor highlight reel? i have watched every GC champs game from start to finish 2 years in a row now.
dort [#30]i dont recall mentioning anything about gender

dort this feels like trolling at this point LIKE BLATANT RACISM WITH THAT SA NA BIT (and blatant incorrectness) onhttps://www.vlr.gg/user/0d3gree top of ur sexism
to those of u saying GC is trash remember this is who u associate with
ALSO U DONT NEED TO MENTION GENDER FOR GENDER TO BE INVOLVED. if u talk about a gender specific league that is centered on the fact that its gender specific gender is there by default
the word gender doesnt need to be used to bring gender into something, just like if i say flor is the goat (cause she is) but the rest of her (former) team is good to then i am bringing up SR without explicitly mentioning SR
u r now educated

dude u responded to bro making a well thought post going through their thoughts on an important topic in detail with i say again significant thought clearly put into it
and admitted that u make a post in 20 seconds
in ur want to defend urself in relation to ur previous post u show a that u dont put care and thought into what u post compared to the cat, making urself look like an idiot
lol
(nothing wrong with putting 20 seconds of effort into a post, bobwoblob below puts an hour of effort into the typing but 20 seconds of thought just like u btw if u cant tell they r sexist as fuck)
Franchising. Technically all female rosters have competed in tier 1 valorant in the past (prior to 2023) as they had the same opportunities through the qualifiers to make it through as the big orgs. Franchising eliminated this, and now the only way in is via tier 2 or having a franchised team sign you.
0d3gree [#56]damn u had me in the first half, making legitimate points and everything, in the first half i woulda agreed with your points and you, but im sorry the GC talent is great right now, flor is demon1 aspas level so of course she gets signed but noia and mel are just as good in their roles, only reason they aint tier one is they aint flashy duelists, so i agree with ur first points about franchises and stuff but not u i do not agree w/ u

See i would have no problem admitting that I may be wrong, but I still can't overlook the fact that they have tried their best in tier 2, but they didn't make it that far. Yes, I haven't watched much of GC, but you can't lie that SR have been getting hard carried by flor. All the players in gc are unproven. Flor has at least had other tier2 experience, but i can't call gc "experience". The teamplay from what i've seen isn't the best, and i think it just needs more time to develop
colZ [#23]girl pros aren't good
can't wait to watch SR win ascension now that they stomped their way to challengers.
