you won't often find glucose (or fructose and sucrose for that matter) in gum (at least here, and I wouldn't really expect it to change across the ocean), the sugars in gum are often artificially made, usually it's something like aspartame which is artificial and absorbs in to your blood faster

+ gum has all that other nasty artificial stuff, even if you do find some that uses natural sugars
