I've been playing this game on and off since beta and have sat around low immo the entire time.
Recently, since the quality of soloque has fallen off a bridge and the game is hella stale, I've been playing 5 stacks with my friends way more often, but I've noticed something.
in pretty much every single game we play there is guaranteed to be 2 or more people on the other team completely smurfing. My account is in asc, and my friends are around gold/plat/diamond, so the lobbies are usually around diamond/asc. Every game there will be multiple people who are obviously immo+ on freshies running around destroying my friends.
I'm not even mad that I'm losing, I don't mind getting shit on. But the games aren't even strategic anymore even though it's a 5 stack, because the other team is just running it down aimlabsing everyone. I prefer trying to outbrain people in stacks - that's the fun part.
Riot needs to add better incentives to grinding and fix match quality up there because as of right now there is zero reason to grind leaderboards and zero prestige to getting high ranks. Especially for people who have been radiant for 3+ years, so no wonder it's more fun to smurf.
TLDR:
has anybody else noticed a spike in smurfs in the last few months? Riot needs to make more high elo incentives.
