how to improve aim

whenever I get into high dia-low ascendant lobbies I get shit on in the majority of aim duels I take. I'd say my game sense is very good, I can basically tell where the enemies are gonna be the majority of the time and take advantageous duels

a bit of background information:
the agents I play are omen, astra, jett, raze, clove, sova, fade, gekko, cypher, skye (I am also decent at some other characters like viper, phoenix etc but I don't play them a lot)
I'm generally better on controller/sentinel, duelist is on and off while initiator I tend to have a lot of bad games. I can get a lot of impact by lurking in some games on controller/sentinel but depending on the enemy team's comp and how my team is playing (may just w key and all die in 2 seconds) I can't do much by lurking 🗿.

anyway I'd like some advice on aim training and how useful it actually is from people who were in a similar situation

I'm bad with initiators but I am very comfortable with the controller and sentinel utility that I play, same for jett. I don't play much raze nowadays now that I think of it

valorant is mostly microflicks since most duels will be ideally close to your crosshair placement

To improve at microflicking do a lot of precise tracking scenarios--the little adjustments you tend to do when tracking a target will eventually become smaller and smaller allowing you to also do smaller and faster microflicks. This is why a lot of overwatch players' skill transfers over

Tracking ---> Precise tracking ----> microflick scenarios will lead you to having good aim for most roles except for maybe duelist

If you want to have good aim as a duelist I recommend also doing a lot of wide flicking scenarios after you finish microflicks

you have to setup a rewarding/punishing scenario, id say DM alot which can help but also learn the best mouse grip/control, playing on high sens might help you

now I play on 1100 dpi and 0.325 in game

yes go high sens and play alot of DM matches focusing only on your adjustment, after a while you can trasnition into a slower sens and you will see the improvement in your mosue control

1 session if you go at it for an hour, but itll go away after going to sleep

3 days for noticeable long-term improvements

2 weeks of daily practice to see impactful long term improvements

Brother, im low radiant atm, gonna tell u one training that i do, that is waaay unusual, but will really helps and ppl sleep on...

  • So, first, aim its really not that necessary, i have friends that have a very strong game sense and are Radiants even higher than myself, but with worst aiming and mechanics. U just have to play properly, and by that, i mean, taking adventage of positioning, setups, and duels. If ppl are shiing on u, is bcuz u are not positioning that well, and u are allowing them to sht on you :D;
  • Second, i did all the training drills that u can think of, Aimlabs, Kovacs, DM's, Range... I cant tell u wich is best, cuz u need to see that for yourself. Personally, Range for me, on 100 bots, without that strafe option, and practicing my A-D counter strafe. All i do is that.
  • Third, the drill that i told is unusual, but helps me THE MOST, with aiming, game ideas and etc, is Swiftplay. Yes. Swiftplay. U will face every rank there, but thats not the important, u just HAVE TO play like it was a ranked, u dont need to call, or whatever, but focus on your gameplay. If u play as sentinel, try to lurk properly, train your setups, pay attention on the map... as duelist, go with your teammate, , and try to take duels, even if they suck...u can awp aswell... but i beg u, under no circumstances play as initiator, cuz that will require teammtes, and in swiftplay, ppl do what they wanna do.
  • Fourth, last advice, be confident, if u are asc, u already know that confidence will massivly impact your gameplay, try to improve that. Like i said, aiming is not the most important.
Take care, hope i could help, that took me a while, my english is terrible.

Have fun.
