nah people are playing much better than they did back then. FNS was using old sage bind strats + 4 people walking up uhaul and got wrecked.
Even recently in 2023 when Skye flashes were rechargeable and people were playing double duelists with solo skye, they had much less creativity in how they gather info.
Sliggy is still saying EMEA teams don't know how to play Pearl and few NA teams do.

instead they just release ass characters every time and either leave them to die (deadlock, harbor) or buff them into being completely broken (neon, gekko, briefly iso) leading to terrible metas over and over

I personally like new valorant better, 2021 & 2022 VCT only VS/DRX and PRX are somewhat developed enough to catch up against western teams. Now there's more asian teams developed enough that can provide stronger competition (GenG & EDG). As a pacific timezone watcher 2023 tokyo was first tourney in daylight time, 21 & 22 was full of midnight matches. BIAS I know crazy.

Well, Valorant is supposed to be a dynamic game so it makes sense that there were times where it seemed better and times where it seemed worse. Let's just hope that 2025 will be one of those years that is good

2022 was when fucking broken characters were allowed to exist, and when the broken characters were fun, gameplay was insane and highlight montages were made every map

But when it wasn't fun (astra) everything was just boring asf

Imo i like some characters being gigabroken per event, and having teams find flexibility with that character and be forced to use a new agent, rather than this boring shit of no one uses deadlock no one uses vyse because theyre nerfed before release
