It's not just a showmatch, they've spent about 2 weeks playing the tournament less than a month before playing champs. It's not an actual tournament but if it was just a showmatch they wouldn't be there in the first place and they would be practicing more instead

And no Aska, GX coach, was talking about how this did take away practice time

Even if they practiced a little it definitely wasn’t nearly enough to have any significance

No way people are taking a mixed tournament with maximum two weeks of practice seriously

That is not what I said. I'm not saying it's a serious tournament, I'm saying they definitely wanna win or else they wouldn't take a break of the champs preparation.

It's a big difference, it's like an off season like a Red Bull or something. It doesn't matter for shit, but they all wanna win while they play it, not like a random trolling showmatch
