is it best NOW to become a pro?

Over the past years there has been a serious improvement in individual player mechanics with even IGLs being able to hit clips now

With a player like Primmie entering vct, it feels like it wont take much time until similar skilled players like Primmie will start to show up

Eventually in a few years it will be like impossible to go pro because it will be saturated by the absolute best and the difference between decent and best will only become bigger and bigger

I dont know if this a serious/realistic thing to happen but im kinda worried it will become this way. What about you guys?

this has happened in CS2 but its not that bad because there is 10x the amount of orgs

avg skill of tier 2 cs has skyrocketed since like 2019

Im worried for val ngl, even though i never wanted to be a pro as a job i love competing and wanted to shoot my shot but as days pass it feels like a more and more unattainable goal

The only way you can find a player who can top primmie is to find someone who will drop 40ks his every map across his whole career ( this is impossible) , so at best you'll find someone like primmie or slightly better.

Sheydos, purp0, globeX have similar stats to primmie in ranked, I'm quite sure there are more.

Going pro in valorant is not worth it, you can only hope dream and pray to get picked up by a random org paying less than minimum wage, and it's impossible to join a franchised team.

riot killed T2 talent which was mostly the gateway to a career.

I dont even want to do it as my lifetime job, its just my character to LOVE competition and valorant is the only thing im somewhat good at, and id like to give it all and shoot a shot and i can still go college if nothing works out

well you still have to eat, so unless you have money to carry yourself through this attempt, it isn't a good idea

dw bro, its the same for me. Im only diamond in val rn, but I would love to play competitively as its just something I would really enjoy. My marks are 98% avg rn, so I could always switch. but my biggest fear is that im already 16 and still diamond and I see these ascension guys who are 16 and I already feel like I have no chance.

Same here. Im low immortal and im pushing 18, wo0t mf already got a franchise contract before i could even hit radiant. Im not gonna let this demoralize me tho. And at the end of the day, i still have college, its better to try and fail than to not try at all

Never compare yourself to others, there are plenty of examples for both sides. People talk about donks, woots and monesys, but then there are people like jL who went from thinking about dropping cs and working as a delivery driver to a major mvp in 2 years

Im gonna be brutally honest from someone who had an experience working on the industry before.

  1. There are like really limited seats even football player have more spots (depends on where you come from tho).
  2. Are you easily burnout? 100% not for you. The career require you to play and talk abt the same game over and over again.
  3. The lifelihood so low that most T2 org or lower doesnt pay you enough to sustain yourself. This is why some pros from certain region are basically rich kids lmao
  4. After the whole franchise thing, youre more closer to a celebrity than an actual athlete. At some point you gotta have a marketable thing from your personality to sustain your career a bit longer.
  5. No safetynet and no pension money.

If youre okay with these points i stated above then go for it, if youre not then better back to school.
Also i was involve on a certain BR game scene back then as part of the TO staff and the content/marketing guy for my region, so i talked a lot with the pros.
