Evil Geniuses is sponsored by Wolverhampton Wolves.
x_knowitall39_x [#2]theyve been partnered for a couple years now yeah
I wonder if that means they're affiliated with the VCT CN team. Maybe they scrim and stuff. Maybe that's how Wolves beat EDG in Stage 2...
Conceit [#5]Yeah I distinctly remember the Wolves logo on the front of their 2023 jerseys, idk about 2024 ones, but I didn't know the sponsorship was still going on after Wolves franchised
Oh yeah, I remember that!

kinda?
EDG went through a rough period where they lost confidence in their own strats, knowing that the China was a weaker region compared to others. This affected the calling and confidence in their play as they didnt know how they would do against international teams, it got to points where how they played in china was not the same as how they played in masters.
Most of the team struggled to perform (except KK). Smoggy and Haodong were uncomfortable in their roles. Chichoo and Nobody aim was visibly worse and didnt get impactful kills. (most likely due to burn out because they played non stop even throughout the off season because they needed to get franchised. KK also wasnt doing amazing despite getting kills. His success came mainly from overcommitting, often getting a 3K then dying, which kinda threw a lot of important moments
structure, meta, regional weakness and burnout was the biggest reasons why EDG failed
They fixed this issue by refreshing their calling (-haodong, nobody IGL) fixed role issues by picking up a flash inti player (S1Mon) + smoggy got comfortable on smokes, refreshed the coaching/structure (-After, +Haodong, + muggle) and just reset the mentality of EDG

catNmouse [#15]if you wanted to be super nerdy about this. cn would technically have three trophies.
wolves (eg partnership - champs 2023)
fpx (originally played in EU and won masters copenhagen)
EDG (champs 2024)
CN best region???
