Aspas situation

It's clear his end goal is playing in korea

Americas teams, who are capable of paying his buyout, have finished building teams.

Eu teams probably don't want to pay a massive buyout for Aspas to just potentially leave in a year and overall eu teams typically dont spend that kind of money on valorant

Pacific teams are broke

China is for farmers

eu teams are not paying 250k for a valorant player, unless as you said they lower his buyout

I agree. I think EMEA teams have more free spots and are more likely to make way for a player than Americas right now, while most APAC teams would be struggling to fit or pay for Aspas. I also think it matters how set some of the leaked agreements are though. There is a non zero chance that there is teams with verbal agreements to a player that might reconsider now, idk.

liquid kinda makes sense, they have an open spot, but looking at these couple of rosters they've built in the last few years it seems like they dont really invest in valorant that much. what makes it even more unlikely is if you look at this year they didn't even try to compete for higher tier free agents and immediately went to trialing tier 2 pros.

Yeah its a bit of an odd one. In a way it makes the most sense as they clearly arent set on a roster yet and are one of the few orgs that actually do have the finances to sign someone like aspas. Aditionally they have on open international spot and should be an english speaking roster. But from last years and this years rumored moves it also seems like they just kind of accepted that they wont be a title competitor in VCT. Perhaps they will reconsider if an opportunity like this arises.

The reason why Im wondering about how "locked" some of the agreements are is that teams like NAVI or FNC would technically be able to fit Aspas if they are willing to/able to kind of "undo" the agreements with the players they were looking at.

If Aspas was fine with staying with LEV, LEV would 100% keep him.
