I've thought about it, and I wonder why more teams don't put some of their less mechanically sound players on duelist. I understand the duelist characters take the most fights and have util designed to get kills, but at the professional level where utility is perfect from teams, most of the time the duelist doesn't even get a real fair shot at a fight in a round, it's more about just creating the space and keeping it/staying alive or trying to take engagements early on defense to bait util. So logically, why not essentially follow the TH method and use your duelist as a human drone? Then have your better mechanical players trade out. Maybe there's something I'm missing here. I'd much rather have my star playing sentinel where they are responsible for winning lurk 1vX's, trading, and holding a side of the map by themselves.

Think about it this way, you have the best player in the world. What value do you get if he is not alive almost every single round? Imagine how many times LESS has saved LOUD, imagine had he not been alive earlier.

Often times teams don’t put their mechanically best player on duelist, it jus so happens that players who dive into enemy lines each round one take first contact consistently happen to have a lot more kills, flashy aim moments, and combat prowess than the viper on the other side of the map whose contacting up the Maldives every single round.

i think it depends on the playstyle, there are duelists like zekken who are great because they are aggressive, and therefore playing him as a sentinel agent would work counter to his strengths
but i do agree there are a decent number of mechanically insane players who would be better off duelist

Didn't really consider this, but it is actually a good point. the mechanical gap at the top level isn't all that different, so it could just be the fact they have more opportunities to showcase it.
