LOUD announced Saadhak's contract ends this year instead on next year now. That I understand. What I don't understand is that people are saying he's a restricted free agent now. Was that a separate announcement I didn't see, or is that just an implication of the contract change, or is it a rumour for now?

nihso [#2]I guess people are saying LOUD are looking for a new IGL since he's gone after this year ends. Doesn't make sense to me tbh bc why wouldn't they drop him completely to save money which is why they dropping saadhak in the first place.
What I know is LOUD made an announcement saying "we're changing his contract expiry date from 2025 to 2024 to allow him to look for new offers if he wishes to do so." They didn't announce he was leaving, and they didn't announce he was a restricted free agent, either. So I'm confused now

Well they're saying he can look for offers if he wants to. He doesn't have to and LOUD might wanna keep him after all. I guessing he can be bought out and LOUD would be fine with it.

This makes the most sense to me. LOUD wants money, so if a team is willing to put in a HUGE buyout for Saadhak (I'm guessing pretty similar to Derke's buyout) then that's of monetary benefit for LOUD

Yup. As far as I'm aware we haven't heard anything of the sort from Saadhak, LOUD, or even any of Saadhak's teammates

Technically yes, his contract will end at the end of the year (You can check VCT Contract database its public information) as long as he is under contract he is Restricted Free Agent by definition

Yes! As long as another org is willing to put out big buyouts to orgs who don’t want to sell.
Edit: i also believe their are roster limitations which dont allow orgs to sign new players during the season only between tournies

I'm more confused now. What's the point in announcing a player as a restricted free agent, then? Does the announcement serve any purpose? What's the difference between a normal player and an RFA rostermania-wise?

The announcement means the org is willing to let them go! Its a public announcement between orgs saying “hey you can buy this guy for less than normal because im willing to let them go now”
