No one in 5 years is going to remember how many finals a team went to in a year, only the finals said team won

TH went to 4 finals yeah, but they won exactly zero

I would agree TH above SEN though because SEN's fall off between Madrid and Shanghai was insane, and their comeback was good but not enough

EDG looked disfunctional in shanghai so hard it was a pain to watch

yeah but no one is going to remember how poorly EDG looked at Shanghai, but they WILL remember that they won Champs

also a team going from a dysfunctional team to Champs winners is, IMO, a bigger success and makes them a better team that year than a team that were serious contenders/favorites for almost the entire year and couldn't win ONE trophy

But the topic is best teams of 2024, im talking about their performance over the course of the year. And heretics was better and more consistent than EDG and SEN.

TH made 4 finals, two of which were international and the other two were regional. They won not a single one of them.
EDG made 4 finals as well, one of them international and the other three regional. They won every single one of them.
SEN didn't make nearly as many finals, but they clinched both of the ones they did (1 international, 1 regional).

You can say that TH has had a better mean placement than EDG and SEN but the saying "no one remembers second place" is a widely popular one and given enough time will prove to be true. Forgetfulness is like a rogue car you know? It always hits when you aren't paying attention. But I digress. TH has had a good year, but they haven't brought home a single slice of bacon and that's just how destiny had planned for their 2024 to be.

makes sense in a vacuum but not always true i suppose; 2023 LOUD didn't win anything last year but they are generally regarded as the third-best team of last year right (behind FNC and EG)?

We have to consider everything. EDG won their region twice and won champs. While GenG won shanghai and their regions once but also made every final except champs. EDG has the most titles of any team this year
