Pre-franchise era + whole 2023 felt very hype, now for 2024 a lot of the people I've spoken to don't find it as hype or exciting, I feel like riot needs to change something cause currently it feels so dead, same thing every tournament, nothing changes between a masters to a champions tournament. Maybe it's just me but I really feel that riot needs to change something, maybe make some more tournaments like lock//in or atleast have something that separates a masters from a champs, make some unique tournaments atleast. There are 2 masters and a champion every year but it's just like 3 tournaments where it's the same teams over and over. I can't put my finger on what needs to be changed but currently it's boring, the hype during tournaments doesn't feel special because it's just the same teams, nothing changes, no difference in brackets or groups, everything is the same.
Since they've already released the 2025 VCT schedule and they're saying that there will be 2 masters and 1 champions, this means it's likely gonna be the same as this year, just same teams, same matches and same everything for another year, not a single tournament that has some twist or change of bracket.
This is just my opinion, maybe it's just me but I really think they need to change something.
