damn
edg_fan_2208 [#2]This is what Riot gets for picking hosting locations where Val isn't big. Idk why they're obsessed with travelling.
Is anyone surprised the CS crowds diff when they're always set in big EU cities that play nothing but CS.

Isn’t Val decent size in Korea?
LouBag [#4]Isn’t Val decent size in Korea?
Depends on what people mean by that, many people in KR play Valorant, sure, but that doesn't mean the game has a committed audience that will neccessarily take time out of their day to watch pro games. Especially if their home country is out.
Seems like the stadium is filling up though, still many empty sits.

Not decent enough size to fill the venues. The country lives off League of Legends, heck Faker was even on the face of ice creams over there. FPS games were never the main point of the Korean audiences if ever. Sure they play the game but to watch the game? Nah in comparison its a low number and it gets worst if it isn't a Korean them they can root for cause they just aren't that interested in FPS. Been like this ever since the super OG CS days

val is getting bigger but fps in general isnt a must watch. Koreans are hoping with time that valorant becomes huge. Koreas still in their infancy stage with tac fps. GENG winning was a good boost and holding champs in seoul is supposed to be another way to grow the game

Fair, but then people should stop complaining about crowds when an event in rural Africa has a lower turnout than the middle of NA. Otherwise host everything in NA.

Really bad point about CS imo
Every NA major had a full crowd
IEM Dallas was sold out
IEM Chengdu was sold out
PGL Shanghai will be sold out
IEM Rio and Belo Horizonte was sold out
Blast Lisbon, where CS isn't so developed was sold out.

yea lol
gg321 [#12]yea lol
You could argue that people still play CS in those countries, but the only Asian market CS is pursuing is China and now Singapore.

You're right, I was exaggerating with everything being in EU. I guess my point is just that we can't expect big crowds for a 4 year old esport if we take it outside of NA and to a small Asian country who barely watches.

Maybe it has to do with the age of the game, but CS feels like more of a sport for me.
