If a team wins ascension and most of the players are under the age of 18 what will riot do will they just force the team to completely rebuild
Shooka [#6]Most likely but I think you have to be 18+ to be able to play in challengers leagues not sure though
nope there are teams all over with under 18 players, for example sayonara on kpi or reduxx on oxg

Oh right then I was wrong thanks for the info I thought the same rules would apply considering vct is 18+ lol

No a team in Turkey literally has 4 players under 18 and rn they are in the finals of Turkish league

16 not 18
Shooka [#10]That would suck if they made vct to be told you can't play in it like wtf
I guess they weren’t expecting to make this far they were a pretty unknown team and no one expected much from them
USCK [#13]I guess they weren’t expecting to make this far they were a pretty unknown team and no one expected much from them
Bro their smokes player looks about 14
He’s goated
TM06Nick [#14]Its because they become contracted workers and have if they are under 18 there will be child labor laws to consider
donk laugh seeing this
Ana 2x TI winner start playing competitive Dota since he 13/16 lmao
SleepyBear [#19]I don't understand why players under 18 are not allowed to play by Riot, when most of the time a talented player they grind & play the game since a little kid...and reach their peak at under 18 ?
because its hard to arrange everything with their school i would assume

Valve and Riot are two different companies with different rules as for who is able to play on their tournaments.

Valve way of handling esports are kinda hands free no? There's no "franchising " in cs or Dota , so no one is technically working under valve. As far as I'm concerned, valve doesn't give a shit if an org fields a 13yo. This has both meanings, the player got to enjoy his career early or valve doesn't give a shit about what might happen to this child.
YamiS [#23]how did zekken play lock in? he was literally 17 during that time
Rules weren't established then I guess
YamiS [#23]how did zekken play lock in? he was literally 17 during that time
Special exception to players who were already part of the tier 1 valorant ecosystem as franchising didn't exist before they were 18 (cauanzin, zekken and alfajer)

This is regarding the labor laws in germany (since host for emea) and only per memory:
When saying minor here im refering to 15-18 year olds
Labor laws in germany are problematic for how val esports operates atm
And then theres a ton more eyes on companies which regularly employ minors, which would cause a ton more work for the orgs and riot
