Genuinely curious, not trying to hate at all

But how did SEN manage to keep their fanbase in 2022 and 2023 despite not doing anything notable for those years?

I feel like after missing S2 Playoffs in 2022 pretty much any other team would've had most of their fans jump ship

It's not like any of the players had particularly big personalities that people kept coming back for. dapr and Shazam stopped shit talking because they didn't have any base for it, and TenZ became popular off of dominating people with mechanical skill, which he wasn't doing at all in 2022. The only draw the team really had was their Twitter account and there's no fuckin way that could carry such a massive fanbase with nothing else going for it

So how did SEN keep it's fanbase in the dark days pre 2024?

I feel like they always had a big fanbase, and more and more people started coming back when they started winning again

because most of SEN's fans are actual fans and not bandwagons, but also prolly how they did interactions on twitter and stuff, and still kept TenZ

it's because most of sen's fans are bandwagons and it's cause of the all the clout the org has (tarik, shroud, tenz, sinatraa, etc.)

wouldn't bandwagons switch to another team when the team they 'support' starts doing shit?

in 2020 they were one of the most likeable teams due to the players just being funny and having more of a troll playstyle

they then signed the best player in the world at the time who was also the most clouted at the time.

then they spent a lot of money/time on maintaining their #1 spot as the biggest org for clout by signing tarik, aceu, shroud, and now curry recently.

If you cant keep a fanbase bedause of gameplay, you give them insiders and sneak peeks

its called fan loyalty a lot of people have never experienced it, but once your team goes big and you were there from the start you stuck a fan whether you like it or not

SEN players while not the best players at the time, were almost always pretty likeable. Sick was a rly down to earth nice guy, Dapr was pretty funny, Shahzam at the time still was considered likeable and funny, and ofc Tenz the face of valorant stayed with SEN. Combine with sinnatra and zombs being the icon of the valorant accent, Shroud and Zellsis joining the org managed to have a positive eye for most of the community. If SEN had dropped these players way quicker they prob woudnt have as much of a dedicated following.
