Sometimes when I look at absol I just think that JP T2 fails to utilize its own talent pool. What are your thoughts?

Let me put some additional info:
Yowamu :
This is his average game during his stint in NTH. Note that he's playing as omen or viper main.
https://www.vlr.gg/297831/northeption-vs-murash-gaming-challengers-league-2024-japan-split-1-lr1

And this is his average game in BC SWELL as duelist
https://www.vlr.gg/341151/bc-swell-vs-blue-bees-esp-challengers-league-2024-japan-split-2-advance-premier-lr2-b/?game=all&tab=overview

He's playing much better as duelist, so knowing that ,why did he end up as a smoker in NTH ? 😭. He's not being used properly.

I know that the game quality will obviously be different, one is playing in qualification and the other one is in the main stage. But still 😭.

I don't know exactly but Omen Viper is the easiest role, so it's the best role for a rookie.

it happens everywhere for the rank demon duellist main, nothing special
Estrella used to be a good jett main when he was named Gunkorea

there is some talents in particular the Riddle guys, but i agree that imports take a lot of space in japan and that there isnt many new talents as far as i know this year (Aace is him and only 16 tho, and wouldnt be surprised if Caedye/Yastuka are in VCT next year), also guys like Hands could never qualify to a split :/

#12

speaking of hands , I think Minty and bazz(not buzz) needs a chance in t2

fs, rly liked the highs from this roster but they never made it for a split this year idk how

They faced CGZ which is unlucky
https://www.vlr.gg/341147/fav-gaming-vs-crest-gaming-zst-challengers-league-2024-japan-split-2-advance-premier-gf-b/?game=all&tab=overview

and even if they are on the other side of the bracket they will face Noez foxx and ultimately Riddle 😭.
https://www.vlr.gg/event/2049/challengers-league-2024-japan-split-2/advance-stage-premier

Also I want to use this as a chance to mention how competitve t3(is there even one) and t2 is but I dont wanna get carried away 😅

great to see that Japan T3 is doing very well, teams like FAV and CGZ not making it for split 2 says a lot about how overall good Japan T2 are, they may lack that top team and that top tier new japanese talent outside of 5-6 guys tho (also ik he aint japanese but HYUNMIN is a demon)

Which is a shame, but if a good tier 2 is ultimately what makes a good jp teams in franchising then I'll take the long shot.

JP VCL is only great for imports since they are T1 prospect.

Yeah it only devalues jp player's already low percieved value in front of everyone. Considering many players ( jemkin , something, meteor , foxy9 , etc) all had quite the career in vcj, if we spread all the imports equally ( instead of 12-15 imports in jp , now regions like Vietnam, indo , oce and others will have players like something, Lakia etc playing in there) , I'll bet that jp player's perceived value won't be that low.

it's not only perception tho

Sry , but put something for 1 year in ID and he will farm everyone. That's what I meant by percieved value.

Speaking of development, I have no idea what ZETA is trying to cook here, but they're trying to pull a 10 man roster academy team. Which is crazy lol.

Also can anybody deep in JP scene tell me is Yog really 9 years old? which is nuts to be that young and already joining an academy team.
this is Yog's twitter

Make them learn English and get more KR/SEA players.
2 JP players + 3 other players from APAC / 2APAC + 1 import.
I think the problem with JP is they are secluded in their own world.

#29
IonlywatchvcjXD

Frags

T2 regulations doesn't allow for more than 2 imports. And why do we have to be so fixated on getting imports instead of developing new talents?

Sometimes I think it's better to just be more secluded. Tier 2 japan by APAC tier 2 standards is more open than anyone else. What region aside from Japan and South Asia that houses a lot of imports? They are too open and it's killing the scene by being to slow on regeneration.

Isn't there some recent leaks saying a lot of japanese talents are signing bad contracts and are stuck?

#33

Any sources on that ? I never got the info ( I might forgot).

I just assume that most tier2s have that kind of contract 😅

I saw it somewhere and I can't recall where but if I remember correctly. But in that hat same post, someone said Vodka (Riddle Order owner) had troubles putting a roster together too for that reason. He wanted certain players but the orgs are not willing to let them go.

ngl, the JP scene is great for talent development, but at the same time, the trend forced organisations to sign imports. We all know they have the ability to scout unproven upcoming talents such as something, jemkin and Izu that debuted in the JP scene. Yet because of how successful teams that have imports in Japan scene such as Sengoku, CR, Jadeite, Reject and Scarz. Teams ended up following the trend of finding good imports rather than trying to find their own locally because they see that all the top 2/3 teams always have at least 1 import and we rarely saw full JP teams making it and the one that did constantly isn't even in the scene anymore (Zeta).

#35
IonlywatchvcjXD

This trend needs to stop or at least declines. Which is why I'm glad that fennel and Murash won against Varell ( 3 jp 2 kr roster) and scarz( abomination) respectively. I hope that both of these wins can finally show jp orgs that you don't have to bring imports to win you games.

#40

The trend won't stop unless we get a surge of unsign teams with full jp players qualifying through open qual

You've just described murash. And we need more teams like murash and zeta.

Probably because of the buyout clause. And i think fav is going to have a roster change
