FPX Qualed to Champs?

On Liquidipedia, both EDG & FPX have qualed to champs

I get EDG bc of their points but how has FPX qualed?

china is weird and has two teams qual through champ points i think

one of them is guaranteed to get top 3 the other is guaranteed through points

Due to the bracket if both of them lose their first game they play each other in the lower bracket. The winner of that goes to top 3 and then the loser quals by champs points

Champs points, the team below need to win it all to move above FPX. Which even if the win the whole split FPX is still in top 4.

why not just keep it consistent across all regions?

Since EDG and FPX are the top 2 in points and one of the two are guaranteed to go to Champs (Given that the lowest they can possibly place together is 3rd and 4th). If one qualifies as a 3rd place seed, the other one will qualify based off of points.
