The VCT Calendar Sucks

The second half of the year just begun, and we already have at least 12 teams on franchising that have nothing to play for.

Removing LCQ was a big mistake.

GiantX playing better now? doesnt matter.

NRG update their rooster? Win immediately or you are fucked.

Furia looking good on some games? Too bad you were terrible earlier.

It makes no fucking sense having all your possibilities gone by now.

And even teams like Cloud9 that had a good first split, they could have amounted to something if they played an international while they were doing well. Masters and Champions should have more teams, like all masters having 16 teams and champions 24 or 32.

Fuck this format, fuck this calendar.

growing pains with 11 teams imo, it will be fixed next year as we already know the format, but you do have an argument for LCQ, but I think the second split if done right has the potential to be better than LCQ, hopefully they learn to not do that half half bs they did this year

Removing LCQ was such a blunder, last year it was so fun.

It's not that bad. The first two international events are based on current form, and the biggest tournament of the year is based on year-round performance. It's just about whether you prefer to see all the "hot" teams at that point in time playing or if you value a whole year's body of work and consistency, cause either way somebody's getting left out.

A counter argument would be that in LCQ a team might fluke their way into champs so you could say this system is better cause it requires consistency

Removing the LCQ is perfectly fine. I don't believe that a team played like shit the whole year then they magically can just turn it around and make a miracle run in LCQ then get shit on @ champs ( Last year in Americas would've rather preferred Lev or C9 in champs over kru's run. )

And even teams like Cloud9 that had a good first split, they could have amounted to something if they played an international while they were doing well. Masters and Champions should have more teams, like all masters having 16 teams and champions 24 or 32.

this would be bad, they would have to extend work visas when they go to different country's, teams would have to spend more money on food and living. and its already barley enough time between tournaments

if it was actually year-round and not 6 month-round, and we had another masters for teams that did well in that trimester, I would be fine with champions being that big thing that lets team in based on the whole season.

Having only 2 spots per region for madrid also was so dumb...
