Icy is so confusing

Individually one of the most consistently underperforming duelists in tier 1, yet his teammates attribute part of their success to him and G2 have been hitting higher heights than ever before

However, the flip side is that icy’s impact may not even have to do with him, rather that the addition of a perma duelist player allowed G2 to fix their role issues they had when neT was still on the team

Also, it was clear in some of their losses at Shanghai that icy was not a star player G2 could rely on for consistent firepower

G2 already has a great core. Do they eventually sign a better duelist when the opportunity comes, or do they wait for icy to develop as a pro?

Valyn put it best when he said that because they don’t have a superstar like aspas or texture they’re able to focus more on playing as a team rather than playing as four guys setting up one individual. Adding a super high fragging duelist might improve them, it might also tear apart their system

I propose Jawgemo. He’s a star fragger suited to the current meta and is familiar with highly coordinated team structures.

G2 is one of the most talented 1-5 teams in the world because Valyn is one of the best fragging IGLs in the game. They can afford to have a role-playing duelist if it allows for Trent and Leaf to play to their strengths. It's why NFL teams still pay the Jared Goff, Brock Purdy types. They've got the statistically best KJ Viper player and the best scan initiator in NA. Pair that with Valyn who's second in ACS and K/D on the team and a top 5 APR player in the region and you don't need to have the best player in the world on your duelist spot. He's young, willing to grind non-duelists and is, from reports, a good teammate. That's far more valuable than the 5th best fragging duelist in the region.
