T2 Sustainability

So realistically speaking, how sustainable really is franchising? I feel like T2 will suffer a lot in the future, especially with all the talent there is. Like last year, JohnQT was taken from M80 and M80 lowkey hasn't been the same since. What's stopping from T1 teams just vulturing players like Reduxx, Verno, etc.? Obviously they can win ascension but I'm talking about the runner ups. I don't think there'll be a "run-it back" culture and that teams displaying stars in T2 will end up losing them to T1. Thoughts?

Isn't that the same case for any tier 2 in any sport/esport to ever exist though

eh. I can't speak for every esport/sport but from the ones i watch I don't see it happening that much. I mean how often do you see G-Leaguers come into the NBA?

Valve killed open qualifiers and starting from Shanghai Major you can qualify only from the Valve rankings
L move imo

yh shi i forgot about that, yeah its an L move, but tier 2 is mostly just these small events like cct and eupl and the removal of major open quals actually means teams will have to start tryharding these tier 2 events (which could boost viewership)
