Leo Faria has scriped the entirety of the 2024 season for Americas at the very least. Let me elaborate.
Take a look at the grouping for Americas. Group Alpha is clearly better and it makes absolutely no sense to have 3 of the Brazilians teams in one group. The overall balancing is very lopsided. Currently, there are only two main clout orgs in Americas. Sentinels and NRG. While the rest are good, they do not pull in the numbers that these teams do.
This is not acceptable to Leo Faria, so what does he do? He lets SEN win Madrid to appease the crowd and build hope and clout around Americas. In split 2, they unexpectedly bomb out alongside NRG and lay the stepping stones for G2, 100T and LEV to build more of a following. Why do you think all of these irrelevant teams advanced? (Irrelevant in terms of clout, not skill.)
The Americas viewers had no choice but to watch these teams, get somewhat attached/connected to them and root for them. G2 and 100T with a miracle run helped the average American viewer forget about org's and rally behind their countrymen against EMEA and APAC.
Leo Faria knew all along that Fenis would return in Split 2 and that's why SEN and NRG never faced off in Split 1, so they can have room to do that in Split 2 with Fenis's return. Is it a coincidence that they are spearheading week 1? I think not. They will pave the way for week 1 and receive an enormous amount of viewers. This sets up the rest of the teams with a good foundation for viewers. G2 and 100T did fairly well in internationals, they're going to have to be watched to see how they perform back home
TL;DR: Leo Faria orchestrated all the groupings and finishes from Split 1 till now to maximize viewership.
