Probably depends on how much spare cash you have lying around. If you have multiple teams in other games that can also benefit off it.

Is having them very ingrained to your team even a good thing or would an external perspective be better for someone in such a role.

At the end of the day hiring a full time psych for 6-7 people is probably more expensive than just having the company fund sessions with an external psychologist when appropriate.

probably need him so less doesnt kick another world class player

I think all of EMEA teams should have one, they need an inspection from a psychologist. There's something wrong with their aim and gamesense(they ass for some reason), hope a psychologist will find their solution.
