How is G2 good?

I unfortunately have only watched one map of theirs against heretics, because of unlucky scheduling
people of vlr, tell me how the team that barely made playoffs (in americas) is in top3? i haven’t seen too many clips that means it is mostly strats and not crazy plays right?

they're an extremely good team and realistically no matter what they do in the tournament people will call it a fluke or luck, but they depend heavily on anti strats and set plays

icy might be the most mid duelist in history
Valyn is a decent igl
Leaf is a decent player

G2 are very good at "icing" enemy teams best players. they dont give dumb fights in man advantage situations. They also have very good postplant and retakes

most teams have 1 map they dont prac which they perma so if it happens to be the opponents best map you dont have to choose between potentially playing ur perma or playing their best map. it matters more if theyre really good at 1 map like sen split or eg fracture

leaf is the big carry imo. JonahP also making amazing plays.
The other 3 have their moments but lack consistency imo
