They have single elims in football because there's almost no variables to sway results. It's not snowbally, and it's not nearly as unpredictable in the way it can play out. Trust me, if football had different terrains and players had superpowers with ways to combo them, there would be double elim

no group stage/swiss stage
only took 5 matches to qualify for and win an event total, least of any event ever
(for reference you needed to play minimum 9 and maximum 13 to win madrid)
100T and Talon got top 8 at that event, and they didn't even make regional playoffs in the split

double elim in video games makes sense because you get more matches with almost no strain on the player.. trust me if FIFA could profit off of more matches they would.. theyre trying to make it every 2 years too

Lock-in didn't have any qualifers because every francised team apart from CHINNNAAAAA was invited. That means ever single powerhouse team attended and had to go through the highest staked tournement that didn't allow any second chances (Single elim) ((most elite format))

so you think Lock\in was the best format because it didn't have a group stage. this makes no sense ur gonna have to further explain this
it was no where near the highest stakes tournament(even excluding champs)
it had no direct implication on making champs, the most important events of the year, only on making tokyo
the least prize pool for winning the event EVER at 100k(masters reykjavik 2021 had 200k for first)
