TE (Team Exploit) was pretty much on their level aswell, very close games and beat VLT once too.

It is quite famous, 50k+ live viewers in Grand finals alone.
But there are just not enough good teams.

Sk_Nirav [#12]It's like valorant/Riot loves SEA more..... Koreans performed on LAN they got only 1 slot in champions and 2 in APAC LCQ, meanwhile sea got 2 direct slots and 3 slots in LCQ.... if reason is releasing date than china's 2 slots in LCQ.... how? why?? No Answers
Riot is woned by tencent, they are obligated to give slots to china

Valorant was released in India along with the entire world and there were major Esports orgs and players shifting from CSGO to Valorant.
I wouldn't say the scene in India is any smaller than in Latin America or Japan. Almost the same skill level viewership is higher than LAM though.
Despite this Riot just did not introduce VCT in India. When questions were raised about why does India not even have an opportunity to play at Iceland, they announced the VCC tournament. This gives 7 South Asian countries a chance to fight it out and get 1 slot in APAC LCQ.
VCC itself is an international tournament though you may argue that it is within a region. Even if Indian teams were really good they just did not get an opportunity. Now that they got one they will represent in the APAC LCQ and play in a truly international tournament.
What hurts though is the fact that only one team gets a chance for LCQ. Both the teams in the finals were pretty good and would have done well in the future. Unfortunately, only one team gets the chance while China who are also yet to prove anything internationally and the game is not out there (yet) gets 2 slots. Sucks but that is how it is.

it might have to do with the fact that last year Indian govt. was banning hundreds of chinese apps regarding data policing but idk why they didnt give us direct spot this year
