the max score on the PSAT is 1520, plus it doesn’t always translate super well. i did better on the SAT than i did on the PSAT
kanyefan4238173 [#11]have you been posting on vlr since the 7th grade

1550 depends on ur def of a good college, if you mean top 20 then yes you will probably need at least a 1500 but to get in ur local state flagship? depending on location (ie. not a state where the state flagship is a t20 like Michigan or California), you can get away with a much lower score and still get a very good quality education

have standards changed in the last few years or what
i had a 1500 and got into most of my picks + my #1 choice (a top school)
pre sure you just need decent enough scores to not get filtered, the extra curriculars are what really matters
ilovefrozenblueberries [#18]psat literally only mattets for nmsqt or whatever that scholarship is called doesnt matter a lot for college apps. j get a good sat score u can take it like 10 times and once ur above a threshold it doesnt matter anyways
i got into gt for cs with a 1400
Rlly?
Thats insane
Could you list some of your extracurriculars/other things that you think helped you get into GT?

1510 on the SAT is the threshold for all top IVY league schools.
sure, it might be cool to get an 1600 but as long as u get an 1510 they will consider ur application

Bump I need this
1290 on PSAT isn't bad at all, especially as a freshman (and like other people said, PSAT doesn't actually matter for college apps)
Also this isn't a guarantee, but I've noticed (this was true for me and I think most other people I asked) that your score on the actual SAT tends end up about 100-200 higher than your PSAT score, so if anything you're in a good spot

ur chances are super super low. most people going into top ivy league schols have 1550 and above. The only way they will consider it if your curriculars are really really good

trust me i know
1510 is like a bar as long as u hit it ur fine they dont REALLY care how much higher u go
but if its the same application but one has a higher sat? ofc they are gonna take the higher one
source: i know a uni prof whos super involved in the applications for colledges and SATS
as long as u hit the mark ur fine
