more exciting, teams can literally be out from playing from April with this current format. CS format would be more exciting for the viewer and more competitive
I dont think u understood what i meants. so lets assume this scenario. There are 8 teams. And 1 is clearly better than 2, and 2 is clearly better than 3 and goes on.
First round
1 vs 2
5 vs 8
6 vs 7
4 vs 3
So here team 2 loses to team 1, 5 beats 8, 6 beats 7, 3 beats 4.
Team 2 is clearly better than everyone but 1, but since they played 1 first round and there is no lower bracket they are just out of the tournament as last place while seed 5,6,3 do better than them.
Valorant is more exciting for viewers with the sacrifice being competitiveness.
Every game in VCT has so much weight to it, the pressure for every game is so high.
Losing a game is incredibly punishing and can derail your entire season.
I prefer the CS format because there is so many more events, matches and formats.
Teams aren't punished as hard for underperforming because they have the opportunity to perform at another event.
Tbh right now CS tournaments feels like too much. Maybe a little tone it down and we can find a middle ground where it works nicely for both players & viewers because imagine the fatigue of the players, they have to play one event, Riot puts out update, they have to change their comps, not enough time then come next event and everything breaks down for them and we get lower quality matches. Right now we just have too little matches that are too close together instead of being more spread out. I feel like if Valorant had 70% of amount of CS matches while being spread nicely across the whole calendar to make for a reasonable off season and good spacing between matches it would be good.
Right now its just so bad, you get multiple off seasons a year if you lose 3-4 games. That's definitely not good for the sport when you want to watch the team not the winning team. LCK is nice, a good 18 matches for each team per split. Val 5/6 games per split is so ass.
