be realistic:
NA would not be the best region if their talent wasnt so condensed into 5-6 teams
even when it is condensed, half of NA still looks shit/is flukey (EG, C9, G2)

with 10 teams for NA and 10 for SA, i dont think NA or SA would win anywhere close to as many tournaments as they will win now.

But for all other regions it’s literally 2 teams (3max) that have the capability to go far in an international competition

EG Is a cheap ass org that forced potter to find cheap talent with little to no time, they don’t really count and was just the leftovers put together after all the solid players got picked up.

C9 has been doing pretty well and i wouldn’t call them a fluke team, they seem like a middle of the pack team that can easily get better over time.

G2 is the ascension team and is overall doing better than the other ascension teams from any region

I also don’t think that you’re right, NA has the strongest T2 of ANY region, I could see M80, OXG, or MXS doing pretty well in T1 once they adapt to the different play style. I’ve noticed that beating the worse NA T2 teams requires you to play slightly different, probably why G2 has had some growing pains

you just supported my point

the reason why the other regions (which have 10 teams instead of 5) have less teams that can go far in an international event is because the talent is more spread out than in NA/SA

All the top tier 2 talent didn't want to leave their teams or nepotism prevented them from being picked up. M80 Oxygen and MXS have two teams worth of talent that could be in franchising as well as N4RRATE and We did.

So a region that only has players from 2 countries needs to put up as many teams as all of Europe, Middle East, and Africa? Not to mention all of Asia

Fair but NA is well established so the players are definitely well more known than other regions. No one expected GenG to play like they did through masters

both apac and emea have 10x the player base americas has so i dont think it makes sense to say that

Would’ve agreed with you a year ago but since the guard got promoted they had an awful start and Icy is not good enough. G2 are slowly recovering but there is a much bigger skill gap between tier 1 and 2 then people think. An off day for a tier 1 does not mean the tier 2 is cracked and deserves promotion…

populations:
AMERICAS: 1 billion
EMEA: 1.157 billion

Europe is 746 million, Middle East is 411 million (includes irrelevant countries in esports btw), Africa is irrelevant other than Johnqt in NA
europe kinda has equal or less to americas, cuz half of middle east is irrelevant in this game

also Im pretty sure there are more NA and SA valorant players than EMEA players

But last year their were players who had previously done well pre franchise as well as players people thought should be pick up as well. Flyuh, Zander, Nismo, Mada, Verno, Reduxx, skuba, N4RRATE, Bcj, wedid, are all right now talent that all can't play because there isn't enough spots. The Guard is also a team that ascended and not individuals that replaced others.

I completely agree there are some talents that would make it into tier 1, but the problem a lot of teams have even with established tier 1 players is making roles work. Look at how much trouble the “super team” Nrg are having. This would stop them making it into tier 1 and even with their experience as a team in tier 2, they would not be able to compete (M80 and OXG could take maps off of some tier 1s but that’s not enough)

It doesn't have to be full teams though. Eeiu and Johnqt didn't ascend with their team and they're playing great individually.

Johnqt is a crazy talent, but he was the missing piece for Sen. 100T have only just managed to make the roles work with Eeiu but he was also a tier 1 years before for Sen with Kanpeki. Don’t get me wrong with this current format tier 1 teams look messy so some tier 2 players could also be the missing piece to certain teams, but with replacements it means a good tier 1 player may find their right team

americas has 1 billion population -mexico because we dont play valorant so its like 850 million
