He is agreeing with you that double elim is better, but the saying the only way you can say Madrid was fraudulent was if you think FNC or Navi would have won which is debatable. Kickoff was flawed but SEN beat the top seed from every region except China. Wild to call them frauds/fluke.

But the stakes were the same for everyone?The teams that lost in kickoff were in a better position than the ones that made it in madrid.They had the advantages and they still lost.How can u call it fraudulent in that case?The madrid teams made it there through the gauntlet especially the 1st seeds.Fnc has a match bye and only played 1 match to playoff.Thats a very big advantage.They still couldnt make it despite kc going through the gauntlet and showing everything.Same with NRG.If ur team cant win with those advantages they were never gonna do well in madrid
That's a very stupid claim you're making, but it's whatever if you actually believe that. If you wanna defend single elim so badly, all I'm gonna say again is that SEN wouldn't be champions if it was single elim, and that's that. Sentinels went through the gauntlet because they lost a match in the group stage, but they were still given a 2nd chance to come back from it, whereas teams that went flawless in groups are gone after their 1st loss... :/
Here's the thing I think you aren't understanding and what everyone is trying to explain to you.. if it was single elim then I agree Sentinels being a championship team right now would not be a thing.. but if it was single elim then would that not also mean that Sentinels being out of masters Madrid would be a fluke all on its own? This argument itself really shows how opinionated your argument really is. The fact that they did win because of it being double elim "or having a second chance" as I think you probably believe it to be, the real fluke would have been if double elim format prevented sen from becoming champions as they have already proved that they are the championship team right now...
Wait am I special, because if I recall correctly even if masters madrid playoffs would have been single elim wouldnt that mean that we wouldve had the EXACT FUCKING SAME GF? Because Sen beat Loud in the first round of playoffs and GenG beat PRX. The UBF was bo3 therefore GenG won but no1 knows how that game wouldve gone if it were to be a bo5. So in the end we got almost the exact same result. And even if Kickoff wouldve been double elim, Sen still won against NRG and Loud to make it to Madrid. The only thing that mightve changed wouldve been their seeding or the other team which wouldve been Loud no?
It’s one thing to say that the tournament might not be truly representative of the best teams in the world and another to insist that its outcome is a “fluke”. You’ve got your head so far up your ass thinking that people are defending single Elim that you don’t realize that you’re implying that the whole tournament is moot because they fumbled the qualifier’s format due to scheduling issues. By your logic, we should scrap the whole tournament results and invalidate the efforts of every team because of the off-chance that they might not be facing the best opposition or even worse — shouldn’t be there because they stole the slot from another team from KickOff.
We all agree that Double Elim should be standard for qualifiers. What you seem to be missing is that every team during qualifiers had the exact same stakes and were on even ground. Hell, the 1st seeds at Madrid from all regions but China had to go through Play-ins and reveal all of their compositions and, putting them at a disadvantage.
It’s clear you don’t care to give good criticism on the format but instead want to write off Madrid as a whole; which is why everyone is giving you downvotes because it’s straight up disrespectful to the teams, staff, and audiences that produced this event for your viewing pleasure.
