One of the reason why ppl are in tier 1 also is they're good teammate and ppl to work with. I feel like there might be off case where you're so good that it doesn't matter if you're toxic but its rare.

Net is def not toxic, I think he’s competitive and gets heated, which is to be expected from a pro. But he seems like a great teammates, and a super nice guy outside of game. He also doesn’t shittalk after wins, which is the hallmark of actual toxic players.

The guy benched himself because he thought he was holding the team back in comms, that doesn't sound like a toxic person to me. The "rumours" about him being toxic never made sense because it wasn't even a rumour to begin with but a speculation from one of the Pacific casters that got overblown by everyone after T1 released him without publicizing the reason why so everyone just jumped to conclusion and started connecting the dots. Never throughout his career was he ever been seen or called toxic by players he's played with and that even includes the shitshow that is gen.g last year.
