CSGO FPL was also an escape from Valve's dogshit ranked experience that really can't be compared to with Riot, so idk if the pros of Val are even down to leave ranked lol.

That depends a lot on the region, for example here in Brazil, ranked has been very scarcely played. Just one week before the end of the season, there were only 300 Radiants on the server, most players can't stand constantly encountering streamer smurfs.

I agree, but to secure a prize pool, the project has to demonstrate that it's working, show that the players are actively playing to improve, etc.
