wait they lost? not even a fan of them but their downfall is tragic damn
Probably you are right, and he still is the best controller itw, there's no doubt about it. But I just find him so underwhelming that I can't rate him as high as most people do. I'm probably biased but π€·ββοΈ
Still a top 15 player itw tho.
Also, the fact that he basically hasn't won anything in his career is very important to me. Ofc valorant is a team game but if you are that good you should be able to do something no?
"Ofc valorant is a team game but if you are that good you should be able to do something no?"
if your team is just worse than the opposite team then no you are not going to win. You can win maps and make your team go on a run but winning a tournament ain't that easy.
I feel like you are just ignoring the lvl of team Mako had to go up against. Optic, Loud, FNC. Look at the lineups of those teams and tell me besides Mako, who in DRX is just outright better than besides Loud in Lockin where they had 2 rookies, Stax also isn't a good IGL, Bro started to igl in latter half of 2021, Zest was igl for 2022 besides Champs, and stax was igl again in 2023.
These were the teams they lost to and never were they favored. Hell, mako alone gave them that 3rd place run at champs. DRX would've lost to FNC was it not for mako in champs 2022.
I totally agree with you, but I still can't put MaKo that high if he hasn't won anything.
Is it his fault? No.
Is it DRX's fault? Maybe.
But still I can't put him that high up if he's not won anything.
Also it's not like if I'm saying he's dogshit. He's the goat controller and the best right now, but I still think he's overrated.
You obviously can disagree with me, but for me wins are over anything.
