i had a shower thought and wondered if leo faria is genuinely this out of touch or if riot is just making him a scapegoat and forced him to do this stupid shit and are forcing him to come up with a pr reason as to why they are doing this for the fans and not to save riot money. OR, leo doesnt give a shit and is doing everything to save daddy riot some money instead of caring about fans. who knows

I heard that part of the reason the schedule is so weird this year is because they have to share some of the venues with the league of legends tournament format but i could be wrong

I believe na and eu share with lcs and LEC respectively. I’m not sure if pacific and China do or not

yeah. for example, americas shares a venue with LCS so it must be a pain in the ass having to move shit around back and forth every week for LCS and VCT. riot is also oddly extremely scared to have worlds and a valorant event even slightly near eachother on their calendar

On a serious note, yes, Leo Faria is most likely the face and scape goat as I doubt he is totally oblivious after all the comments, suggestions and hate he gets on twitter. Most likely these terrible decisions come from above and all the shit with sharing venues with League is part of the problem too. I'm pretty sure there's multiple people making these decisions and Leo Faria is just the person giving us the news, though he could have something to do with it, I'm not excusing him on that part. But in the end, we shit on him because that's the only person we can complain to. To my knowledge no other upper management level employee is publicly on social media.

If I had to take a guess, I think Leo generally agrees with the community, but has certain limits and requirements imposed by execs, such as budgets and not interfering with League viewership.

While they're technically the same company, I think it's important to separate the VCT and Riot. Leo and the VCT's interest is promoting Valorant, but Riot's goal is maximizing profit. If I'm being charitable, Leo is likely trying his hardest to push for longer schedules, but is getting shut down by execs who want to maximize league viewership since it's likely more profitable.
