Thoughts on skye nerf

How are comps gonna work now on double controller + killjoy maps?
She basically lost her birds. Which is the only long range info ability she has. I think she’s no longer an info init but more like a Breach type of agent that has a ripped off drone ability

It's gonna be annoying when u accidentally deploy ur bird and it auto flashes after a while, like before when u accidentally deployed the bird u could just not activate it and not accidentally blind teammate. Now with the new flash you will accidentally blind a lot of teammates.

they should have made it a 2 kill recharge instead or something idk

Icebox - people were already running Sova no flash on that map
Lotus - people will probably just use Fnatic or M80 comp
Breeze - FNS thinks people will run double sentinel, not double controller
Pearl - Ascent comp with Astra instead of Omen
Fracture - EG comp if they are able to
Bind - people will use Fade probably
Split - Fade probably comps back

they should give you the option to cancel the auto flash

with palworld's success its a no brainer to bring in that gekko era

I think lotus’s leaning towards a double init meta with the amount of corridors opened up
I’m a big fan of the fade comps on bind but I just don’t think it’ll work. Maybe SEN would get something to work with a yoru comp but there’s like a month left before the next big event

gekko is broken now surprisingly he was already above average but now he´ll most likely be the main of a lot of initiators i guess.

I like it. Double controller was only so viable b/c of skye, and it's nice to see people have to actually change their agent pool instead of just always playing Skye as initiator. Unfortunate for pros since the change happened so late, but I like it as a casual player.

Good because skye needed nerf, but bad because its happening pretty late.

I think they wanted to lean away from double controllers comps and tbf Skye’s rechargeable birds are the things that made it viable so I can see the reasons behind it.

I just personally didn’t like this change bc I liked the double controller meta as a viper main 🙄 and now viper is less viable again on many maps

Honestly, I don't think a nerf was needed, maybe other initiators needed buffs, almost every character feels so undertuned and boring.

That would just make her flash still insanely strong and her other util even weaker. This change also is absolutely meta changing so they aren’t incapable of changing the meta lol

I don’t mind the nerfs. At her core, Skye is supposed to be the “flexible initiator” and so it made sense that she would get a nerf if she became used everywhere and not just situationally.
In terms of what this means for the meta, I think teams will pivot into more Gekko or Sova as a pure replacement. Either this or they will switch to double initiator on maps like bind with Gekko/Kayo and Sova/Fade for example.

I'd say that she'll definitely be affected but We can start seeing more Gekko now especially on maps like bind

worthless is an overstatement, she will 100% be used on bind and split still

-Not to much as normal player
-As pro player it's the change to close with kick off they need more adaptations with more change and it's to fast for the change the game (ofc they not happy cuz they already cooking with that stuff)

unrechargable flash is a bittoo far, 1 rechargeable flash would've had the same effect on meta comps, but never killed her completely

lbr skye will probably still be meta on split she dominates that meta so hard
and gekko is probably a more likely candidate for bind over fade, we've already seen teams run gekkos on the map(even pre-buff)
