So what is Tier 1?

Lotta ppl with a lotta diff opinions on what NA teams are t1 and not. Here's my take and feel free to post yours. I include definite tier 1 and the in-between teams (basically tier 1.5 or lower tier 1)

Tier 1.5:
Gen.G
FaZe
T1
TSM
ABX

Top of Tier 2:
Rise
KCP
DZ
Immortals
NRG
Soniqs
DZ
BBG

I think Gen.G, T1, and TSM have shown enough potential to be solid tier 1 in the near future. Also Rise, KCP, and DZ could very easily slip into the "1.5"/"lower tier 1" category soon.

I might make one for EU too cause I'm interested in ppl's opinions on that as well

Also could change KCP and DZ to 1.5

I think rise could be tier 1.5 also idk if c9 are t1 I would put them in tier 1.5 rn

I think LG is Tier 1.5 tbh

c9b tier 1.5 now after the loss to lg. In stage 2 they where tier 1 though otherwise i agree with the rest of it

KCP and LG should be 1.5

LG and C9 both T1.5 so is Rise

i see nothing too wrong about the list. Maybe change c9 and LG to 1.5 only because of consistence and overall results. Everything else is fine with me. Hoping that you don't have an order with your ranking DZ, Soniqs, Rise and KCP should move up in the list but not into the T1.5 slots but you can make a good argument for them all

I think shahz ever say something like "T1 teams is when they already win in high rank tourney or always competing in it"
A little vague, but tbh it's hard to tell T1 or not when the performance of a team is always inconsistent.
Here's my take based on consistency of performance

T1 : SEN, NV, 100T, V1, XSET

#Note I think T1.5 is team that have T1 player but T2 performance
T1.5 : TSM, C9B, LG, NRG, ABX, IMT, SONIQ, BBG, FAZE, GENG, RISE

The rest is T2

I think people make it more confusing by literally switching teams between tiers so quickly and by adding a tier 1.5. In reality teams that are in so called tier 1.5 are just at the bottom of tier 1 or top of tier 2 so just put em there. Just my opinion I just think its crazy how quickly some people will drop or raise a team between tiers based on their last performance.

if they make it to stage 3 playoffs with recent history of making main stage then its t1 team i guess.

What was the condition for putting teams into tier 1 category?

If you decide that teams who fall into tier 1 had to play in say all biggest events from RIOT(Masters and First Strike) except Reykjavík(for now). Then you'd have SEN/V1 cause of Reykjavík and Faze, NV, 100t and IMT are all belong in tier 1 because all except V1(new but ended up in Reykjavík) played in First Strike and Masters. Especially, this year's Masters was the biggest tourny in NA(not international). Unfortunately, C9B has never been a tier 1 team in Valorant yet as they have never reached a main event through the qualifications, not even once. Whereas LG, XSET, GEN.G, TSM, T1 and RNG have played at least in one of the two biggest main events and belong in tier 1.5. From here on you can build tier 2 and 3 based on playoffs and maybe some monthly tournaments(consider some teams were not allowed to play monthlies).

I mentioned about condition as there has to be some order/rule or we're going to change tiers every month depends on recent teams' performance.

LG and C9 aren’t t1

i love how 1 team loses 1 match and everyone goes they are not t1 anymore. and 1 team wins qualifies for a tournament once in their whole if (while the others always did) and probably that new team wont make it anyway and got down after this qualifiers they're still counted as T1 team.

there's a reason when these team loses it's called an upset. they were always t1 team and still is. 1 qualifier doesn't mean shit.

I would put Gen. G and Faze above C9 as the latter seems to have massively fallen off over the last month, especially from a mid rounding perspective. Faze have clearly worked some stuff out so will be interesting to see how they play next weekend.
