Selig is W but freeing is literally a rank player and his rank stats isn't even that good. There are so many good players in kr t2 and they chose an unproven player that's not even good in rank and has nothing else going for him other than the fact that he hit rank one while duo abusing. Korean talent scouts are just horrendous

CN did steal most of the only good t2 kr players

I rather they take chances on newer players than recycling old ones. You never know if freeing turns out to be good or not and his ranked stats arent even that bad. Exy has some of the worst ranked stats Ive ever seen for a korean and hes a top korean player still....

freeing is an old name in the KR scene btw

I havent seen him in the scene for a long time. I rather them taking chances on someone like that instead of recycling boomers like allow/hate/goddead etc. LuZ was also a old name but he came back after a long break and played very well. Just hopefully tier 2 korea scene is full of new names

teams go through scrims with different players when they are recruiting them. so you can't just say you would take chances on someone new especially for t2 teams since most esports orgs are losing money instead of making big profits. which means that they would take someone who performed better in scrims etc. this isnt like football club where you can sign youngsters. although i do see your point.

- allow/hate/goddead are not boomers and allow is a decent player
I agree but it seems korean teams like to go with the safer option often and it rubs the fans the wrong way at this point. The problem is there hasnt been any relative success with these "older names", so its only natural the fans want to see newer names in the scene after 2-3 years now. I used the term boomer wrong but Im sure you get my point. Imo it seems like nepotism still runs deep in korea.

You can't call it nepotism when you don't really know the scene deeply which is why i choose not to get too critical with other regions like SEA and EA (except Team Secret cos everyone knows abt them). You mentioned rank stats too but they are pretty useless and odd thing to judge pro players for. Exy was really good in dplus and according to my friend whos korean, the kr fans doesn't seem to be too unhappy with selig and are looking forward to see freeing coming back.
relax, like the team Stew was in, other t2 kr teams have good young talents.

well I am korean so I know what Im talking about to a certain extent.... I wouldnt say Im heavily invested in the scene but Im deep enough to hear and read things about players and teams. The ex coaches talk about the scene a lot like locomotive and bail. And from what I hear and see over the past 2 years, yes there is somewhat nepotism in korea. And I dont judge people off ranked stats, I said exy has bad ranked stats but is a monster on the server so it shouldnt matter either way.
